TOWARDS REACHING A MBA DEGREE!

It was on November of 2008 When I decided to pursue my further studies in my alma matter taking up Masters in Business Administration (MBA). It was a tough decision then as I just came from my 2nd failure in the CPA Board Exam, great dilemma arises to me during that time whether to continue trying my take 3 in the board or pursuing my master's degree, but my passion to go back to school ruled and my journey to MBA life started...

During my first day in the graduate school, As I remember was a little bit tense, but with tremendous happiness, maybe because, I know it will be totally different from high school and college life considering that I will be dealing now with professional and respected individuals in town. I profess that I adjusted myself a lot with the new environment and new educational system of the degree...

While taking up my MBA Degree, I am simultaneously working then as a COLLEGE INSTRUCTOR in 3 schools here in Pampanga, It was such a Hectic Schedule for me as I teach from Monday to Friday and attend my MBA studies during saturday from 7am to 7pm, but as they say If you really love what you are doing, no matter what hindrances may arise, you would still do everything and take the challenge to make all things possible...

So I took the challenge, the challenge to meet the deadlines of assignments, term papers, research papers and a lot more to mention, dealing with misunderstood, intelligent, sensitive, weird, sympathetic, lazy and inspiring professors, coming up with excellent presentations of reports, and the unforgettable battle of taking the COMPREHENSIVE EXAMINATION as a requirement for graduation.

Speaking of Comprehensive Examination, this exam is being taken by any Graduate School students who have completed the academic requirements set by the program. In my case, I finished a total of 42 units comprising the Basic, Cognates and Major subjects before I was put into the hot seat of taking the arduous compre exam. I finished all my Academic Units last year summer of 2010, and took the said exam last August 5 and 12, 2010, the days where my mind and heart were just focused on one thing, to answer all the questions being asked and pass the exam. I know that my experience in the exam was extraordinary, in a sense that you need to answer 7 to 9 essay questions in 1 hour per subject and there were 11 subjects, imagining myself answering those questions with limited time, as if, I am dying slowly but slowly, Likewise, I can say that I am a survivor, I took the summon to finished the exams with great pride and perseverance.

4 months after, to be exact December 15, 2010, I received a phone call from the UA Graduate School Office telling me the good news, a news that would give me the motivation to move forward, a news that would somehow change my life style, and a news that would make my parents even more proud to me, what is it? Yes, you are definitely right with your guess,,, I PASSED THE COMPREHENSIVE EXAMINATION WITH AN AVERAGE OF 94%. Thanking the Lord was the first thing I did when I heard about that unexpected news, My hands were shaking, my heart was beating too fast, Tears of joy were overflowing from my eyes, I am totally speechless and certainly don't know what other words I am going to utter...

Ever since I was a child, I can say that I am a DREAMER, I always dream of things which I want to achieve in life but I see to it to make it happen by realizing them with actions, I once dream of having a title with my name, at first it didn't worked out because of my failures in the board exam, but this time, I am very proud to say that I already made that dream to come true, as I called myself now, KRIST MARK Q. MACAPUGAY, MBA

In the next few months, that name would become totally VALID, as I take my final vow to my MBA Graduation this coming April 2011 with my PARENTS.

Making it this far is not a joke, it is not even indeed easy, but it takes a lot of courage, patience and determination along with great faith to the Lord.

If you are going ask me one question....Am I going to stop dreaming? definitely not, and there is no space for not dreaming more and more, in fact, my next move is to become a CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT (CPA). This time NO rooms for failures, as long as I believe in God, my abilities and myself like what I did in achieving my MBA Title.

I admit that I am not a perfect human being, I am not a perfect son nor a perfect brother but there is something with me that makes my life meaningful... what is it? my closeness to God... since grade school until now, I involved myself with different religious organizations where I showed my love and commitment to the Lord... I know what is this in me that makes my life so committed with him, maybe because He is the only one who remains in me when I am afraid, when I am down and weary, and when I am in the darkness moments of my life.

It was late last year, when I discovered a new friend of mine, He is not a human nor an animal, it is a magazine... the kerygma magazine. " Kerygma Magazine is a catholic inspirational magazine. it aims to be an evangelistic tool to all nations, providing scriptural, practical and orthodoz teachings to catholics, particularly those in the charismatic renewal." ( Source: Kerygma Magazine, December Issue) . for some, this may seem not visible to their eyes whenever they visit the national book store, I understand because you cannot actually see a famous beautiful artist nor a heartrob guy in this magazine. But there is this magazine which really makes me addict to it. What is it? the lessons I acquired in reading inspirational stories and articles which really gives me enough and even more greater strength in facing life. the joy of experiencing God's love within my heart and the peace of spirit that flows within my body.

Starting then till now, I do not miss visiting the National Book Store, just to have a copy of the magazine, the warmth happiness it brings me makes my life so strong and becoming more and more closer to God. It was August of 2009 when I started sharing my personal reflections to Kerygma Magazine through www. kerygmafamily.com. In the said website, I shared my personal testimony about what I have read in the June Issue, at first It was only my way of expressing my feelings but I was shocked when I bought the September issue of the MAG, I saw my said reflection published in the said issue. It made me proud as an ordinary person having been trusted of sharing my personal insights to thousands of filipinos inside and outside the country...

Upon reading the August issue of the magazine, I was inspired with the story of the Prodigal Lolo who has been abandoned by his family after working abroad for so many years, it made me feel pity on him considering he made everything just to give what his family needed but it was disappointing that his own family do not even appredciate what he is doing for them. With this, I was touched by the holy spirit to express once again my emotions through a simple reflection which I actually sent to http://www.kerygmafamily.com.

A while ago after going out to work, I decided to dropped by SM National Book Store to personally check if the December Issue of Kerygma Magazine is already available. With great joy and thanksgiving, it's already placed on the shelf, with no doubt and excitement, I picked one and paid for it right away. Upon arriving home, I rapidly opened it to check the articles inside. With my shocked, I saw my name in the KFAM Insider page, Ow! It was my Personal Reflection dated August published once again. I felt the joy inside because for the 2nd time, I was trusted by the magazine to share my personal sharing to filipinos nationwide. And for the benefit of those who will attempt to read this article. Let me share you the photo showing the reflection of mine published in the latest issue, It was actually shown above. Let me share to you the contents of the said reflection " I just want to share my personal reflection upon reading the August issue of Kerygma. I couldn't control myself from crying after I read the story of Lolo Carding " the prodigal lolo." I felt sad for him. My father has been working abroad for 26 years now but never in our minds did we think to not accept him because he was away from us. In fact, we understood him for not being with us most of the time, because if he did not do what he did, I would not finish college and be able to pursue my master's degree now. I do hope that people would realize the value of a parent.

A NEW BEGINNING!

In the past few days, I can say that I had a lot of dilemma in mind, dilemma that made me realize a lot of things to know myself better and the people around me. I went through a stage where I need to sacrifice some of my routinary work just to comply with my own comfort and happiness. I shifted myself from being a full time college instructor to a part time basis.

Financially I know it is hard for me considering that I am also financing my own allowance in and out of school in my Master's degree, but with the grace and love of God, slowly I am surviving...

but to ask if I have regrets of coming up with that decision? I think I just did what is best for me.I just followed my heart truly says...

I am supposed to come back to my field of work, which is in the accounting industry,there are great opportunities stored from me but I think they may not seem as enormous at the moment. I am trying to try a work that is outside academe. I miss my life facing the computer the whole day, cramming with deadlines of financial reports, and dealing with misunderstood clients, but it shows that it is not yet the time for me to do so...

I think my passion in teaching is still active, and gives me the eagerness to continue this vocation with the positive response and feedback that I often hear from
students and fellow colleagues.

In relation to this, another door has opened before me now,not in the private sector anymore but in the government sector... absolutely not in the office yet, but in the academe... what school is it? that is I think a secret for now,,, but it is a public university for the record. I just want to thank the school for giving me the opportunity to be able to impart my knowledge to their students. I appreciate the trust and warm welcome they showed and gave me during my first day. I am prayng ang hoping that good things has been set to me during the span of my stay... till when? until there is 1 young mind who still experiences hunger for wisdom. with that, Only time can tell.

OPENING PRAYER

Our Dearest Heavenly Father, as this Saturday begins; we are gathered together as we ask for your holy name to guide us in every endeavour we take. We pray that your mighty power be our courage, your divine words be our comfort, your everlasting love be our strength and your lovingly touch be our protection.

St. Augustine once said that “to love is to go beyond ourselves and to fasten our affection upon an object of love.” I personally believe o Lord that you created us for a purpose, not to simply love ourselves but instead showing and extending our selfless love and care to others.

Help us O Lord to eradicate our anger, eliminate the feeling of hatred inside our hearts, and heal the wounds of pain that continuously taking us away from you.

And most of all, May the spirit of comradeship reign in the hearts and minds of every people in this world o Lord regardless of differences in races, gender, religion and faith.

We ask this in the intercession of your name o Lord.

LONGING FOR SOMETHING NEW!

I hate being lonely, I hate having a boring life, I hate crying, I hate pretending to be happy but this is what I always feel and I just can't hide it beyond every smile and laughters that slips my face. If I could just turn back time, I wish I was a forever college student, I miss college life, I miss my college friends, I miss my life serving the Lord everyday by preaching the word of God inside our UA Chapel, I miss helping and teaching less fortunate students at Chancery. I miss the joys and memories my classmates and I have shared during our 5 years of being together. In short, I miss my real life, I miss myself, I miss KM...

As much as I keep my true feelings, It is hard, because life has to be face in a case to case basis... it is not easy to show my internal heart crying with sadness, My life is like a candle which continously melting and I just can't stop it. I feel that as day passes by I am continously becoming more miserable, abnormal and feeling nowhere... I wish I can get away with this , escape with my personal sentiments, getting out to my environment and live as if the day is just as bright as the sun that rises in the morning.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA NEW MOON SOON TO OPEN IN MOVIE HOUSES!

Twilight is a 4 series novel of two individuals who fell in love in an extraordinary and mysterious way with its main characters: Edward Cullen and Bella Swan.I was able to watched the first series of this movie and I can say that the story was incredibly awesome and fascinating. The sequence was great and really shakens my heart with the sweet romance of the two main characters. It is a story of a mortal and a vampire who fell in love in a destined time. Based on a source, the second series which is the twilight saga new moon will be aired sometime in November of this year. I could not wait to see the continuation of this story, though I already have some idea on how this second story will be like. But let me keep it a secret so that I will not disturb your momentum in watching... ehehehe! anyway, We see you folks in theaters soon! Godbless... CERTIFIED TWILIGHT ADDICT!

NOT ALL OPPORTUNITIES ARE GREAT!

A Life full of miseries, A world filled with sorrows, a mind saturated by confusions, and a heart stuffed with emptiness. These are the things that can illustrate my status at the moment. Why? all because of WORK! A work that is suffocating my mind with a lot of questions, a work that sucks my brain with anger, a work that made my life miserable and unhappy.

I always dream of so many things in my life, and most of them with the love and grace of the Lord did realized, especially my longing to become a teacher. But sometimes, some opportunities are not great! I thought when God will give you what you want, You will be endlessly be happy, but I proved it wrong with my present situation now.

I am not hapy with my environment, may be because I am still looking for a better one that will suffice my needs, maybe because I cannot please every people inside eventhough I;m trying to please them. Maybe because I was overshadowed by my loneliness which makes me deteriorates as day passed by.

I am always very proud of myself, because all the jobs that I've been came through did like my performance very well, I guess it is because of my sincere dedication and determination with my work and my unending support in the undertakings in the organization. These attitudes which I possessed gave way to me to face a huge opportunities which will compensate my commitment.

It is always been certain and not a doubt that I already wanted to leave my organization now because of a lot of reasons, I don't see myself staying here for a longer period, I believe there are still a lot of things I have to learn outside which will give me more great blessings. But God tested my being firm with my decision of going out and explore myself in a new environment, just last week, I was informed and offered by my coordinator to be the new coordinator for next year;s new course in our school, BS in Accounting Technology, it is a 4 year accounting leading to Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. It is actually a big break for me as I am going to handle one of the in demand course in town. My coordinator even stressed out that I am the only person which is more deserving for the position, she even suggested to me that I should take right away the board exam so that I will be promoted as DEAN afterwards, ( I am the youngest DEAN if ever in the history at an age of 24 ) Wow!I felt the intense pressure inside thinking that it is a big challenge. KAYA KO KIA? is just the question that slips my mind and I said " KAYA KO AKO PA" but upon arriving home, I felt that there is somebody whispering to my ears saying " Think of it still, you might be entering a wrong way" I didn't ignored those words which I actually heard, but those words became a realization to me that I should examine first what I am going to enter to. I consulted some priests and some religious people and close friends. And they all have the same advice, " Follow what your heart speaks and not what your mind dictates" my heart speaks that I have to leave already the school because i am not anymore happy because of the people, crab mentality do exist in short which sucks my head a lot. But my mind dictates that I have to stay, because I am still needed by my students because of the knowledge I give.

After 1 week of realizations and reflections, I already made up my mind to one decision, to follow my heart... that is to refuse the job promotion and leave the organization sooner or later. I feel that if I am going to stay, my life will be more miserable and will be shadowed with darkness. I decided to find a new environment which is more PEACEFUL, HAPPY and FULFILLING ONE. this only proves one thing with my decision, others may say that I am TANGA because opportunities do come seasonally so u better grab it. But in my case, I declined the opoortunity and yet chose my freedom, a freedom that will lead me to my real happiness. Not all opportunities are great is what i learned in this circumstance in my life, that sometimes do positions are deceiving to hear but still you still weigh if that is really make you happy.

I don't have to be a coordinator to prove something, in fact being offered to be one as coordinator is already such a pleasure and assurance that i'm doing well in my profession and that the management do really see my unending dedication to my work. I feel sorry to those people who are trying to pull me down because of the blessings that are coming way thorugh my life " Ika Nga - "KUNG SAAN KAYO MASAYA, GAWIN NIYO, KUNG MASAYA KAYO MANIRA NG TAO PARA LANG MASIRA ANG ISANG KASAMA, BAHALA KAYO! ISA LANG ANG PINANINIWALAAN KO, SABI NI JESUS ANG TAONG PILIT NA BINABABA ANG ISANG TAO PARA MAKUHA ANG GUSTO EH HINDING HINDI MAGTATAGUMPAY! MAPUNTA KA MAN SA POSITION, HINDI KARIN MAGIGING MASAYA... SABI NGA NI JESUS MAPALAD ANG MGA MAPAGKUMBABA DAHIL SILA ANG PINAGPAPALA, KAYA NANINIWALA AKO NA AKO AY PAGPAPALAIN!"

I don't have any regrets of declining the position, I can still achieve that into other organizations and I believe it is much better than this. I'm sure these " GOOD People? are already happy, CONGRATS! GOD BE WITH YOU GUYS!

IT'S ABOUT TIME!

It was such not a good evening for me as I had experienced a typical problem with my students... They actually ruined my night helping me to realize that I need to wake up with my dream, and face what is actually best for me. It is about time to follow what my heart speaks and not what my mind dictates, It is about time to get out of my shell and spread my wings high until I reach my true happiness. It is about time to accept the fact that I am not anymore happy with what I am right now. It is about time to face a new challenge outside the world of teaching as I planned to go back in the actual battle field in accounting. The prospective jobs may seem still uncertain, but my feelings of leaving the organization remains constant for a longer time now.

Being in the teaching profession is such a great pleasure, it is such a great honor indeed, I was able to get along with the different kinds of students inside the 4 walls of classroom. Imparting them my knowledge up to the extent of losing out my voice is not any matter to me, extending out my patience is not even a big deal, but I guess like an ordinary human being, some things have to put an end. I guess this is what I feel right now, I think that I really have to breathe another working environment, an environment that would somehow relief me from anger, an environment that would give me enough peace of mind, an environment that would satisfy my needs, and an environment that would show me the real value of camaraderie.

I do believe that starting a new is another great obstacle in my life, a life that are still covered by gigantic queries and great anxieties, a life that is immuned by previous nightmares, a life that hopes for eternal happiness and a life that longs of a sincere understanding.

I know that when some things has placed to an end, there is always a new lovely moment that will come before the eyes of a human, and I am deeply looking for that, I trust God, I love Him more than I do, I praise Him above all things, I know He knows what seems to be best for me, that is why whatever decisions I made, I know there was a blessing coming from Him!

BACK TO NORMAL!

It is exactly 12:30 am on my clock, June 15, 2009... still facing my laptop, chatting with friends online, texting and listening to a friend's problem, browsing and reading Bo Sanchez blog website, and feeling as if my life is still in the midst of summer! Oh! Wake Up KM! Wake up! Wake Up! Sad to hear! The good times is over, the hang outs with kadas will be put at pause for a while and the playing of bingo game with my childhood friends will be set aside for a moment... just for one immense reason,,, my life will be back to normal... normal, holding my white board marker writing lectures in front of the class, formulating test questions which I hope majority will pass, counseling students who needs a companion or a shoulder to lean on and focusing in giving time with the activities at school... In short, I will be facing my life being a professor once again.

A life full of stress yet satisfying, A life full of headaches yet fulfilling, A life within the 4 walls of classroom imparting knowledge to students yet heartwhelming inside. I do believe that big challenges awaits for me as I enter another one sem of teaching, but like the previous year, I believe that God is with me and He will never leaves me as I continue taking this road of my journey.

I also feel excited because I prepared innovative and creative teaching strategies for this sem, I guess that is a demand for a teacher, to be flexible at all times, open to change, introduce new techniques that will make the whole activity exciting.

I am looking forward for a one fruitful semester ahead with my co workers, students and also to the people whom I am going to meet as I move on. How can I make it possible? simply to have a GOOD START!

I'M PROUD TO BE AN ASSUMPTIONIST!

The University of the Assumption( UA)is the first and only Catholic Archdiocesan University in the Philippines and in Asia living by its motto " Scientia, Virtus, et communitas" translated in english as " Knowledge must lead to virtue and to community service." It was founded on January 12, 1963 and now on its 46 years of existence and soon to celebrate its Golden Year Anniversary.

I can proudly say that I am a Product of this University, having attended 4 years in High School, 5 Years in College with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, 1 Sem of being a Substitute College Instructor in the Business Administration Department and now on my 2nd and last year in my Masters in Business Administration Degree. In my almost 11 years of stay in this school and still counting, This school became a witness of my growing years in life, this university became my second home having world- class professors who serves as my second-parents, older brothers and sisters,and even trusted friends and companions.

It was June of 1998, when I First stepped on the vicinity of this university, It was quite hard for me then as I remember adjusting in the environment, considering it is a new school to study with. I will never forget then That I am not supposed to be admitted in the school because of my probationary status in the Entrance Examination, but with prayers and luck, I was given the opportunity to enter the school. We were 13 sections then in the 1st Year and I was placed in the 7th section. Quite frustrating because I'm expecting that I will be included in the first section which is considered to be the home of the cream of the crop. But like an ordinary fighter, I didn't loose hope, I took that as a challenge, I continued the battle, studied very hard until I became consistently the top 1 in our class. At first, The feeling of gladness was present in my face but still the great insecurity was there overshadowing my joy, because I am not in the 1st section ( In short, eventhough I am Top 1 in the class, that will not make any sense, I will not be receiving any award because I am not in the highest section) but still because of my strong personality, I still continued fighting until my general average made me qualified to be included in the 1st section the next school year or in my second year.

Finally, Coming my second year in high-school, I was included already in the top section. I was filled with mixed emotions when I first entered the classroom, there is a feeling of happiness because at last, I will be with the brightest students of the university, Intense pressures, because I believe the real competition is here present, and the feeling of vulnerability as to a dilemma if they will accept me as a friend or a competitor. But in God's grace, I was very glad because I was welcome wholeheartedly by my new friends. Definitely, We can't avoid that there are some who are very hard to please, but I just didn't mind them anyway. My life in this year was very difficult because of a very tight competition among us. Life in the 1st section was full of arduous moments,,, study, study, study, never ending studying! But that was nice, I am learning a lot of things in focusing with my readings. My effort in this year was not enough because I was included in the lowest 10 ranks in the class.

Another school year was opened, my 3rd year HS Life, my insecurities was slowly be blown away because I am already use with the personalities and attitudes of my classmates. It is also in this year, When I met my "Kabarkadas" namely Nonito, R-Jay, Sheena, Frelda, Monique, Alpe, and the leader of all Aaron. We had great times together which I absolutely missed at the moment. How can I forget, also in this year when me and some my kabarkadas and classmates joined the first ever UAHS Glee Club... We are proud to be the pioneers! eje... ( Yes, I have this hidden talent, I actually sing... in fact I have a " Tenor" voice, but now, because of no practice anymore, my voice is continously deteriorating... eje!) what makes this year very memorable? for the First Time, I was included in the Honor Roll and unlike in my First Year, this time I went on stage very proud with my mom receiving my certificate of commendation.

Last year of High School Life came in, a very crucial in the lives of every high school student, the year where we decided what course are we going to take in college, the year where we spend the last few moments of our lives as high-school students, and the year where we said temporary goodbyes to friends and classmates. But saying goodbye does not mean that we are not going to meet again, this is just a starting point for us to face another chapter in our lives. Our Graduation Day? Absolutely filled with delightful moments but deep in side our hearts there is sadness.

I guess the very serious part in every educational years is the college life, because it is in these years where we are going to study the concepts and principles related to the field that we are going to partake in the future, and that happened to me, I was totally serious with my studies in college, for a reason that my course is absolutely difficult, in fact, it is considered as one of the much hated course of everyone, because of its hard to understand principles and the unending problem solving and analysis, But you know what, without bias, This is the most enjoy and challenging course! because the moment that you cannot balance a transaction, you will surely do everything finding the last centavo which caused it unbalanced and the moment you discovered and have it posted, you will shout out loud with joy, as if you won a lotto, I Have experienced this so many times. I also had the privilege during my 5 years of stay in the college department, joining and leading to various organizations, The UA Outreach Ministry, UA Commentator Lectors Guild, UA Christ Youth in Action, UA Rotaract, Ingat Nang Asuncion, and the Statement, the official publication of the college of accountancy. I had wonderful memories with these organizations which I will forever cherish.

After Graduation, I also had the Opportunity to work here in the University as a Substitute College Instructor in the Business Administration Department teaching "Advertising",. The subject which I taught was indeed not my forte because I am an Accountacy Graduate but with God's Help, I was able to survive teaching this subject and was able to impart to the students the concepts, principles and even its applications in today's world.

Right Now, I am currently enrolled once again in the university taking up my Masters in Business Administration. In fact, I am now on my 2nd year which soon I will be graduating. I dont' know what is in this university which made me stay this long, but what I only knew is that I feel safe and totally relieved when I am here. In short, " I am in good hands with the quality of education which the school offers and I am satisfied with that."

I don't know till when I am going to stay here in the University, who knows, I will be pursuing still my doctorate degree here, but I guess with that, Only Lord can tell... but what is certain now, I AM TRULY GRATEFUL AND HONORED TO BE A PART OF THE UA FAMILY... I'M PROUD TO BE AN ASSUMPTIONIST!

Nowadays, the global financial crisis is consistently prevailing inside and out of our country, lay off of workers are being done side by side, our economy is slowly be putting at risk, in short our lives are becoming more complicated. But there is always an answer to every problem right? Definitely

Many of our “kababayans” nowadays are wise enough in handling life, they engage into businesses which they think can benefit them and their families as well. They believe that being a forever employee will not totally give them enough satisfaction. I do believe in that, I think having a life that is eternally be in the 4 walls of office will not make you grow much. But there is always an exemption absolutely.

A year ago, one of my hobbies is buying magazines, showbiz magazines specifically (ha-ha! You might think it is FHM or cosmopolitan, no it’s definitely not!) I wanted to know more of the latest issues of the various tv personalities (in short, tsismis! Ehe), I got to enjoy reading and learning from their stories, sharing their personal insights about certain topic etc. but as time goes by, I’m getting bored reading them. Until, coming 2nd semester of the school year, I was given the opportunity to teach Entrepreneurship Subject in the 2nd year and Project Feasibility Study in the 4th Year. Teaching these subjects is such a great challenge for me, a challenge that I have to impart to my students the different concepts and ideas of putting up a business and how to become a successful entrepreneur in the future. But teaching the said subjects did not become hard for me, why? Because I already had a detailed idea on starting up a business, we were thought actually in college and were able to execute it also, and especially with the help of Entrepreneur Magazine which I am regularly purchasing.

This magazine is absolutely informative with the latest business tips and updates. I am not an entrepreneur but I can say that there is this entrepreneurial spirit in me which I believe will be realized soon how about you? I am still in the process of searching for best innovative ideas which I can use in putting up my own business and I think this magazine is helping me out with that. COMMEMORATING OUR FREEDOM AS FILIPINOS!

It was on June 12, 1898 to be exact, 111 years ago, when Former President Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed our Independence Day in Kawit Kavite. In the said day, huge people from various provinces came in to witness the first raising of Our Philippine National Flag and the singing of our Philippine National Anthem. The balcony of General Emilio Aguinaldo became the place where the ceremony was peacefully held.

It was such a great feeling as a citizen of this country to remember the heroic deeds of our people in the earlier times as they fought thoroughly just to achieve our freedom from the foreign countries who have attempt to colonize us.

As we reminisce this momentous event on Friday, June 12, 2009... Let us all remember our worth as Filipinos, Our great love and respect to our country and most importantly our sense of nationalism to our home motherland.

I do hope and pray that as we celebrate this historic event in our lives,political rivalries will be set aside and Unity will reign in the hearts and minds of everyone so that the progress of our country would continously develop!

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER: A GLIMPSE OF THE "TWILIGHT" MOVIE

Twilight Movie is a story of two young individuals who unexpectedly fell in love in a mysterious way. Bella Swan played by the lovely Kristen Stewart is a clumsy, kind-hearted teenager with a knack for getting into trouble. When her mother remarries, she moves with her father in a little town in forks and there she met the enigmatic and intelligent looking guy vampire, Edward Cullen played by awesome Robert Pattinson who is trying to hide his secret, his family is unique as compare to the other vampires, because they ought not to drink human blood. With this unexplainable encounter, they engage into a passionate and thrilling romance but against all odds, a group of thirsty trackers and their families tries to disapprove and separate them. but with their real and unconditional love to each other... The relationship succeeded.

Better Late than never I watched this brilliant and Fantastic Love Story of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen in this majestic masterpiece "twilight" directed by Catherine Hardwicke, the movie was being shown in theater last year 2008 but fortunately I just watched it last night, I already heard so many good feed backs about this movie before but with my busy schedule then I was not able to catch up watching this film. Thanks to my sister, she was able to borrow an original DVD copy of this movie yesterday. Upon watching the movie I can't hide my feeling of " kinikilig" maybe because the story was indeed a charming romance.

It is really an unrivaled story because the impossibility becomes totally possible, the fictitious things, becomes a fact and a dream becomes a reality. It is not a doubt that this movie receives so many excellent commentaries from the viewers because of its awesome creation.

I'm just glad to hear that this movie is a 4 series novel, the first was the one which we have watched and the other three are soon to be seen in the big screen ( Wow! can't wait to watch them and feel love once again in the air... wahaha). To have a bird's eye view of the succeeding three series, here are there synopsis:

MBA GRADS: FOR SOME, A WAITING GAME

"Some companies are now asking graduating MBAs to delay their start dates for months, and many students are expecting the worst

For this year's MBA grads, "no" seems to be the answer to everything. No offers. No jobs. No internships. No call-backs. No interviews. Thanks, but no thanks. For those lucky students who already have an offer in hand, even yes comes with a no attached: Not yet.

In recent weeks, cash-strapped employers who have made firm offers have begun delaying start dates for MBA hires, mainly in service-based industries such as consulting, but also in more isolated instances at companies in industries ranging from consumer products to electronics.
Three- to Six-Month Delays

And it's not only new MBA grads who are facing delays. "We've had a couple of companies say to our interns: 'Can you start a couple of weeks later?' " says Jeffrey M. Fischer, director of the MBA Career Management Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler Business School (Kenan-Flagler Full-Time MBA Profile).

The delays for post-graduate permanent positions are usually anywhere from three to six months. Some companies such as Deloitte, which has confirmed delayed start dates for a handful of new MBA hires in its consulting practice, are providing graduates with partial compensation. Others are giving them an up-front signing bonus and even health benefits, while still others are offering little more than a handshake and a promise, leaving many wondering if the jobs will exist three or six months down the road.

With no money coming in, they're also wondering how they'll get by. One 28-year-old student at Northwestern's Kellogg Graduate School of Management (Kellogg Full-Time MBA Profile) had her start date with a global beverage company pushed back from just after Labor Day to January 2010. All she got was a relocation payment, and she won't get her signing bonus until 30 days after she starts. As a result, she'll may need to move in with her parents to make ends meet. "I really need that money now," she says, "not in six months."
"Assume You Don't Have a Job"

Like many graduates who told BusinessWeek about their delayed offers, this MBA insisted on anonymity for herself and the company, saying she feared alienating her potential future employer. BusinessWeek contacted all the companies that reportedly delayed start dates for these hires; all but Deloitte were unwilling to discuss them or provide details.

For graduates, delayed start dates create a dilemma: How do they stay on the good side of their intended employer while still hedging their bets to make sure they end up with some kind of paying job? Some have taken short-term opportunities at other employers, while others are secretly looking for other jobs, and still others are working for their future employers without pay until their official start date, just to keep their foot in the door.

Career counselors are advising students who have delayed start dates to seek temporary work to pay the bills and quietly pursue other positions so they can hit the ground running if their hoped-for job disappears. Some are less hopeful than others. Harry Kraemer, a former Baxter (BAX) CEO and current Kellogg professor, advised MBAs at a recent panel discussion at Kellogg to treat the offers as nonexistent and hope to be proven wrong. "If your start dates get pushed back," he told them, "just assume you don't have a job."

Pushing back start dates during dips in the economic cycle is not unheard of. In fact, employers have been known to delay start dates in every economic downturn, most recently in 2002.

This year, says Roxanne Hori, assistant dean and director of career management at Kellogg, the delays are more widespread, but they aren't yet as long as they were in 2002, when one Kellogg grad waited 18 months before finally starting his job.

But what if the economy doesn't turn around in the next six months? Hori hopes that companies will learn from their past mistakes and realize that in the short term it's not worth the reputational damage to ultimately rescind these offers, as some did in 2002, and in the long term, it is also detrimental to the success of the company. "From the short-term perspective, there is a branding issue. But more important is the impact internally. When you have a gap year when you don't have much talent coming through, it creates some lapses later on. You don't have a pipeline and that becomes a problem."
How to Hedge Your Bets

For MBAs, deferred start dates—even if the jobs do, ultimately, materialize—are a real hardship, says Maury Hanigan, president of the MBA Scouting Report. Many have mortgages or have uprooted their families to attend business school, so they don't have a spouse with an income to help pay the bills. "They can't just go and play in Europe for six months," Hanigan says. "They're older and they tend to be more established. They tend to have families or at least spouses. And they've got school debt kicking in."

The problem is that searching for a new job after having already accepted one is sometimes viewed as inappropriate, a violation of an unwritten code between employers and employees. Even so, Hanigan says, many MBA grads with delayed start dates are throwing job-hunting etiquette to the wind. "Realistically, I think students are keeping their eyes and ears open for other opportunities, but trying to do it quietly so they don't risk the job they have in hand."

Some who have accepted some form of payment—be it a relocation stipend, signing bonus, or partial compensation—say they feel they have formally committed to starting at a later date. But many say their future employers are encouraging them to take short-term project assignments with other companies to generate income during the interim.

First and foremost, says Kenan-Flagler's Fischer, students should try to be as honest as possible with their future employers so that they don't burn bridges. "The one thing I would tell students more than anything is how you handle yourself in a crisis situation sets the stage for how you're perceived in your career."

But even Fischer admits it's good to have a back-up plan. To give students one, UNC recently partnered with a training firm to give 40 new MBA grads a four-day crash course in credit analysis, analyzing and restructuring a company's debt. "We asked the question, in a bad market how do you take our finance education, which is quite good, and get the rubber to the road?"

Not a bad back-up plan to have because, while some job offers will eventually pan out, other students may ultimately be forced to get creative."

Hayden Kho being the Ex Boyfriend of the famous Dra. Vicky Belo and Katrina Halili being one of the hottest stars in showbiz.

Sex scandal is undoubtedly a major issue nowadays in the world. It is one of what they called greatest issues of all time. but the continous spreading out of these scandals is absolutely infavorable on the part of the Religious and moral individuals.

In this modern times, technology is continously rapidly blooming with the various gadgets that are coming out our way, and even videos particularly sex scandals can now be easily access to the internet through various websites like you tube and you porn etc.

It is so depressing that there are no laws/bills yet in our constitution regarding the eradication of this sex video scandals in the internet. It has been said that there are already some politicians who have made bills like this but still it seems that the government ignores and focus on the things that will benefit them most.
The Sex Video Scandals of Hayden Kho and Katrina Halili was said to be taken 2 years ago,,, and it was just being seen by the public just recently. The big question now is Who is/are the person/persons involved in spreading out this sex video scandals of the two in the internet? Initially, it was been said that Hayden was the one behind this dispersing of the videos, but in the previous interview, he deniably said He was not the one! as the issue passes by, the 2 close friends of Hayden were pointed out as the ones who spread out the videos but that is still in the process of verification.

As I'm watching this news about this scandals, I can;t avoid but ask myself, Who is/ are really the victim (s) of this alleged sex videos?, Is it really Katrina alone or there are still others? this question was being answered a few days ago as reported in the news that there are also other women with Hayden Kho who have sex video scandals which are spreading out also in the internet, there was this brazilian model and a new actress then in the philippines etc.

At the moment, The issues is still in its hottest level, Katrina Halili already filed a case in the court regarding this issue, She was now also being supported by some prominent organizations, friends in the industry and her families in fighting aginst those people who have made things like this to her.

I am hoping that The truth will prevail in the end, and the following questions will be answered: What is really the motive of spreading this videos out? Will the government wake up and push thru some bills regarding this protection against women? Will the sex scandals be totally eliminated in the internet? Indeed the truth will set us free.

Right now, what we can do is to continue pray that this isuue will be resolve soon and let us unite and cooperate to stop the spreading out of this sex video scandals and other immoral and unnnecessary videos that ruin the minds of the people.

OCCUPATIONAL HAZARD ( KERYGMA, DECEMBER ISSUE)

Did you hear about the man who was looking for a job?

He noticed there was an opening at the local zoo. upon inquiry, he discovered the zoo had a very unusual position that they wanted to fill. apparently their gorilla had died, and until they could get a new one, they needed someone to dress up in a gorilla suit and act like a gorilla for a few days. he was just to sit, sleep and eat.

Of course, his entity would be kept secret, and no one would be the wiser, thanks to a very fine gorilla suit. the zoo offered good pay for this job, so the man decided to do it. He tried on the suit and sure enough, he looked just like a gorilla. They led him to the cage; He took a position at the back of the cage and pretended to sleep.

But after a while, he got tired of sitting so he walked around a little bit, jumped up and down and tried a few gorilla noises. The people watching him seemed to really like that. When he would move or jump around, they would clap and cheer and throw him peanuts. So he jumped around some more and tried climbing a tree. That seemed to really get the crowd excited. They threw more peanuts.

Playing to the crowd, he grabbed a vine and swung from one side of the cage to the other. The people loved it and threw more peanuts. "WOW! This is great," he thought. He swung and the crowd grew bigger. He continued to swing on the vine, getting higher and higher and then all of a sudden, the vine broke! He swung up and out of the cage, landing in the lion's cage that was next door.

He panicked. There was a huge lion not 20 feet away and it look very hungry. So the man in the gorilla suit started jumping up and down, screaming and yelling, " Help, help! Get me out of here! I'm not really a gorilla! I'm a man in a gorilla suit! HELP! the lion quickly pounced on the man, hel him down and said, " Will you be quite! You're going to get both of us fired!"

ACT & FAIL, FAIL & LEARN, LEARN & SUCCEED

For my 23 years of existence, I have to admit that I’ve been through a lot of painful and joyful struggles in my life, I’ve been carrying through me sweet and bitter memories of yesterdays, and throughout this journey, I always lived up to one motto and that is “ Act & Fail, Fail & Learn, Learn and Succeed”.

Yes, I do believe that learning from our failures is the best key ingredient for us to achieve our target success in life and I was able to prove this out. I was just a typical young boy then dreaming of so many things in life… I wanted to be a teacher and here I am now, A full pledge Educator enjoying sharing my knowledge and experiences to ordinary young minds. I wanted to be an Accountant, and here it goes, after 5 years of solving arduous long problems in accounting, burning the midnight oil and reading thick and hard to understand accounting journals and books, I am now practicing this profession on a part time basis in a reputable institution. But Did I achieve all of these easily? The answer is absolutely NO!

Enormous failures came through my life before I attain what I have right now, but these failures did not became my hindrance in not pursuing and striving again, in fact These failures became my learning ground to dream and move on all over and over again. I’ve failed many times but my whole body is stronger now because of them. I have learned a lot about facing life through my failures, I became so disciplined and knowledgeable every step of the way. In short, Failures are ongoing learning lessons that we have to live by.

This motivating matter is coincidence related to the kerygma magazine that I bought 2 days ago at St Paul located at SM City Pampanga; it is a catholic inspirational magazine. The magazine’s theme for this month’s issue is “FAIL YOU WAY TO SUCCESS! Rising each time you fail guarantees victory- and strong knees.” Sounds interesting right? Yes, indeed, but the stories featured here were not only interesting but definitely exalting and inspirational.

Let me share you 1 of the stories inside this magazine which was undeniably galvanized me and I’m sure can inspire a lot of people like you experiencing this kind of battle in life.

This is a story of a young dentist finally made it after 4 struggling takes in the dental board exam. Dr. Ariel Palma was indeed an achiever since childhood, He is not a quitter, in fact he does everything in his power and means just to attain what he wants in life, but like an ordinary person, he also possess weaknesses, when things get tough to him, he becomes complacent.

He took up dentistry for 11 years when in fact in the regular sense it must have been 6 years, but there are reasons behind these things definitely. He began taking the course in 1991 at Centro Escolar University; He even joined Singles for Christ in 1994. At the start he was not that active until he was given a great responsibility of being appointed as one of the leaders of the said organization where he has to spend extra time.

The last two years of his supposedly six year dentistry course which is more of clinical requirements was indeed made Dr. Palma experience a great battle, because it is in these years where the dentistry students have to perform actual dental procedures like tooth extraction, dental filling, oral prophylaxis, root canal, etc. on live patients. But his obstacle became more severe in his last year where his patient for the root canal procedure backed-out and he had a difficulty finding a replacement. With this He wasn’t able to proceed to Clinic 3 and Clinic 4 and as an effect He was not able to graduate as scheduled in 1997.

This situation in his life made him lost his momentum and quit in his studies, also because his parents could no longer afford for his tuition fee that is why. But that instance turned out to be a blessing in disguise for him as He was able to reflect on the condition. He thought that being the chapter head of SFC then, he has to be a role model to his members. He even asked himself “How could I be an Effective Leader if I hadn’t yet finished my studies?” After the said realization, He enrolled again the following semester with the help of his brother as the financier with gigantic perseverance. And finally He graduated in March 2002.

But the great fight and failures in his life didn’t stop there. In May 2002, He took the Dental board Exam without reviewing, He was very confident that he will make it because He believes that he is smart, but with that being so confident, He passed in the practical part but failed in the theoretical part of the exam which made him having a conditional status. For your information, the Dental Board Exam has two parts: theoretical and practical.

With great hope, He took the board exam again but the theoretical part only this time in December 2002. This time he just reviewed on his own but not that serious because He gave so much time attending community gatherings and meetings of SFC over reviewing for the board. Like the 1^st take, He believed that he could make it this time but He was disappointingly wrong. He didn’t make it once again.

After a year, He enrolled this time in the Review Center to prepare for the May 2003 exam, He still keep attending various activities in the said community and unfortunately

He failed again the 3^rd take. This time became so tedious on his part; he began questioning the Lord, He said “Lord, I have been serving YOU. Why didn’t you grant my request?” His self-esteem rapidly tumbled. He took himself away from friends and relatives, even gatherings and reunions to avoid questions.

To have a break from a stressful exam, He decided to work as a dental assistant to his friend’s clinic; He also became a project consultant for a toothpaste company. In August 2006, He tried his luck abroad; He applied at Australian Dental Council but with great frustration, he was turned down by the latter because he was not a board passer. This circumstance serve as a wake up call for him to try once again the board exam, but this time, was totally different, He took off a break from his services in the community to be totally focus in his review.

For the 4^th time, he took once again the board exam, but this time with extreme confidence and determination, and with God’s goodness, He Finally Made it this time, He is now a Certified Dentist! (Congrats, Doc)

Right after He passed the Board Exam, He took up as its Post Graduate Studies, Orthodontics and Cosmetic Dentistry.

After He graduated, He was able to put up his first clinic which was officially opened on January 20, 2008 in Quezon City. And with God’s kindness, He was able to open another clinic in Makati last March 2009. According to him, He regards his profession as a service and not just an income provider; His rates are low compared to other clinics in Quezon City. He helps the patients who are short of cash; in fact, he allows them to pay the balance later. (Wow! A Good Samaritan in the Making)

Dr, Palma currently serves as a Unit head of Singles for Family and Life in Our Lady of Consolacion Parish, Mira Nila, Tandang Sora, Quezon City.

As parting words for Dr. Palma with what he went through in his life, here is what he said “What happened to me was truly a humbling experience. I realized that it is not enough to be confident or to believe in what one can do to succeed. I learned that I also have to discipline myself. Know my limitations, review and set the right priorities, strike a balance in each area of my life, do my part by taking the necessary action and allow God to take over the areas I have no control of. My failures became my greatest teacher. I learned my lessons the hard way but it was all worth it. Failures may be bitter but it made my successes sweeter.”

After reading the said story of Dr. Palma, I can’t avoid but remember my days when I am also in the state of reviewing for my Board Exam like him, I also tried everything to pass the board exam but unfortunately, I had 2 failing takes. I also questioned the Lord then because like him, I am also an active member of various religious organizations. But I realized then after that I should not question the Lord because He is doing what is just right for us.

This story gave me so much hope to strive again, in fact I’m planning right after I graduate from my Post graduate degree soon, I will try my luck again for the 3^rd time. I do pray with great faith that I will make it this time like what Dr. Palma has achieved.

It was late last night when I received text messages from some friends forwarding me that A ( H1N1) is now initially spreading here in San Fernando, Pampanga. With regards to the message, it has been said that there was 1 patient residing at Angeles City Pampanga in Jose B. Lingad Hospital(JBL) who was confirmed as H1N1 victim.

Upon receiving the said message, I was totally alarmed and scared that I could not think very seriously... I was thinking of what can the virus do to destroy our health... It is really contagious as to the study is concerned, it can pass on from one person to another.

What is swine flu?

Swine Influenza (swine flu) is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza viruses that causes regular outbreaks in pigs. No. Swine influenza viruses are not transmitted by food. You can not get swine influenza from eating pork or pork products. Eating properly handled and cooked pork and pork products is safe. People with swine influenza virus infection should be considered potentially contagious as long as they are symptomatic and possible for up to 7 days following illness onset. Children, especially younger children, might potentially be contagious for longer periods.

How long can viruses live outside the body?

We know that some viruses and bacteria can live 2 hours or longer on surfaces like cafeteria tables, doorknobs, and desks. Frequent handwashing will help you reduce the chance of getting contamination from these common surfaces.

What can I do to protect myself from getting sick?

There is no vaccine available right now to protect against swine flu. There are everyday actions that can help prevent the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses like influenza.

Take these everyday steps to protect your health:

• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.

• Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.

• Try to avoid close contact with sick people

• If you get sick with influenza, CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

TV RATINGS: IS IT REALLY A BIG DEAL?

I was watching a program in Kapamilya last week when I was alarmed by an issue being talked about at the moment,,, the undying controversy of TV RATINGS... It is really an unending point of debate right? It is an intense dispute between the two giant networks claiming and bragging that they are the real no.1... It is an endless war between the Kapamilya ( ABS-CBN) and Kapuso (GMA 7)... But the big query is, whose really the best?

It is indeed not a doubt that TV Ratings is very significant in a certain TV Program of a certain network, because it is in here where the prospective advertisers will choose on where they will publicize their respective products. The said ratings will also help the public in figuring out which network has the most viewed shows.

But the very alarming war of these two giant stations is creating some sort of disturbance for us viewers...Actually, for me it is not even a big issue, I both patronized and watched the two networks, but recently I am always tuned in ABS , but that doesn't mean that I am a Kapamilya, No... It is such that there are selected programs in here that satisfy my taste as an audience.

Based on the recent TV rating figures that was published by AGB Nielsen, It shows that GMA 7 is number 1 in Mega Manila where the center of business is located, and ABS-CBN remained number 2 for the past 5 years and still trying to win back the throne which was previously in them. While TNS ( Taylor Nelson Sofres), the another Global Market Research which also conducts TV Rating Survey released a results showing that ABS-CBN is number 1 Nationwide... With these very confusing results, the public' posted comments from the various articles in the internet regarding this issue... There are comments saying that ABS is really number 1 while others claims that GMA is really the true number 1, some comments says that there are some alleged biases between the surveys,,, there is manipulation in short... ( Hay! Nakakabingi at nakakasakit ng ulo!) if I can just only shout STOP!!! so that they will close their mouth shot... It is really irritating!!!. It is like watching a race or a contest and everybody is claiming that they are the winner afterwards, and if they were declared the loser, they will complain and say that the results were manipulated or brought out by a biased decision etc. HELLO? what are competitions for?! if that is the case I guess We just stop forming things like this, because We are just trying to create a huge disaster. omg!

I believed that this sort of same issue of TV ratings between the two giant networks was previously being brought out to the court, but that one was a history,,, I am sure everybody was aware what was the judgment of that latter controversy.

The TV Rating Figures is a matter of a result brought out by accurate and credible data,,, but can we figure out if AGB and TNS were really credible? We can hardly say Yes, because these are known media research not only locally but also globally, but what if not? these means that the public is being deceived of spending millions of pesos of advertising their product into a certain program which is being declared as the most viewed where in fact it is not.

But what we really need, is the real score right?, simply the truth. The truth will set us free as the saying goes, but how? how can we achieve this reliability? I guess that will remains a query... For me the question of which is the leading station is not of matter, what is significant is that both networks are doing their best and spending money just to give us the quality entertainment that we need. I guess what is essential now is to focus on the major issue that our country is facing, what is it? the global financial crisis... We help one another, We help our nation, We help our country... indeed Philippines is still Philippines our home!

It has always been my dream to be in the academe world since childhood but God just gave it just recently... Come and Join me as I narrate my simple journey towards this profession...

I will never forget when I was still young, during my grade school days... Me, my cousins and playmates have always this simple gathering at home, not to celebrate a party or what, but to play an educational game, what is it? someone will act as a teacher and others as students... I remember then, my older cousin ( Not to mention her name...hehe) and me always fight because I wanted to be the teacher then and she also likes to be the one,,, but the short argument did stopped easily, How? We both acted the teacher, no questions asked in short... wahaha!

Years had passed, Things were continuously changing, Variety of technological inventions are coming out our way, but not for me. I still hopes that someday I will achieve this one simple dream.

Until I reached my 4th year High School and just a few months from then, I am going to face already the very crucial part of my education life, the college life... so the major task that I have to accomplish then is to choose for a course that will fit the work I want to be in the future. I have to admit that I really had a formidable time then deciding what degree I am going to pursue, why? because ideally I really wanted to take Education but my mom doesn't want it. She wanted me to take Engineering because my dad was an Engineer, she wants me to take the foot steps of my dad, but 100.1%( eje, lampas talaga ng 100%) I don't like that course... why? maybe because I'm not use with the future work of the degree after graduation, so I under went various counselings with friends and also some religious people to help me ease the pressures I am experiencing then with my family.

As time passes by, divergent courses are coming in my mind, there was this AB Psychology, AB Masscom, Banking and Finance,,, and take note, none of those passed the taste of my mom... omg! very radical...

Few days before the decison making, I was able to talk to one of my good friend of mine, Fr. Jonathan Bartolome, I asked him for some piece of advice on what to do and with great gratitude, I was able to relieved myself from the fears that is scattering all over my brain after a short meaningful conversation. I felt like releasing a kilos of stress inside my body after wards.Thanks to him! Cheers!

The day of verdict came in, while taking the steps in the vicinity of UA, going to the Guidance Office, I feel the intense nervous inside,,, hoping that I will make the right decision, my mom then don't have any idea of the course that I am going to apply. Upon arriving the guidance office, I was asked rapidly by the Guidance Counselor, what is the course you are applying for? with my shocked,I just answered " Accountancy" but in my mind It was supposed to be Economics... what a twist, isn't? I still don't know what happen then... It is as if I'm not the one who answered then It was God... It's God choice, in short! so I just trusted the Lord with that choice, so I pursued the course for 5 years and luckily I finished with flying colors...( P.S. my mom aside from Engineering do like this course too,I guess my mom prayed for this that is why...I also began to love this course after 1st Semester... wahahaha , ang bilis ng recovery!)

While taking up the course, still my dream of becoming an educator was still active... I remember, my mom told me in one of our conversations, " Eventhough, you are not an education graduate, you can teach." So I lived up to that words of my mom, it gave me somewhat the boost to hope once again...

Right after graduation and the board exam, I was given the opportunity to work as a Commercial Finance Analyst at Coca Cola Bottler Philippines. Inc ( Manila), but I didn't last that long why? because I am longing for a work that is beyond routinary and not boring! so I decided to resign, and there came my idea of applying into a teaching job, and with luck, I was hired in two prominent schools... St. Nicolas College of Business and Technology where I taught as a full time Instructor and at STI College as a Part time....Wow, my dream became realized then... This is it! I am now an educator!

While practicing the profession, It entails a lot of sacrifices and a lottttttttttttt ( ganito karami..ehe!) of patience! my first semester was indeed very difficult, because I have to deal with different kinds of students with different personalities, but in God's Grace... Thank you, I survived! I prove then that Teaching really is not a profession but a vocation, a vocation to teach young minds and instill to them good and proper values... A great challenge! Dedication is also vital in this field, because if you don't have one, I guess you will end up deciding just to leave and moved to a new field. In addition, in the latter part of the semester, I was also given the opportunity to teach on my own Alma matter, the University of the Assumption, for a substitute status. ( astig diba? 3 schools agad, todo tinupad ang pangarap! whahaha)

Too many temptations are trying to hinder me from continuing this profession, there are a lot of reputable and known companies in the Philippines who attempts to hire me for an accounting position, in fact a while ago two companies called me and asked me if I'm available but I refused them and also the latter and still decides to go on in this job. Maybe because I am still enjoying sharing my knowledge and touching the lives of my students. But I am also very open to possibilities that sooner or later I will go back to my career field and practiced it... Teaching is just a part time job indeed but I just made it full time for a passion satisfaction!

Two weeks from now, I will be facing my life again in the 4 walls of classroom with my students, I know they maybe the different students I handled before, but that is the big challenge to me, to inspire and capture the minds of this new individuals and give them the proper knowledge that they deserve... definitely not serious all the time but with fun moments too... with this, Prof. KM, now signing on...

THE AGONY OF A HOPEFUL CPA!

It is now exactly 7:35pm on my clock, and just came from our last day of class in one of my subjects in Masteral... woooh! finally 1 subject down this summer and 1 subject still left. But that is not even a big deal!anyway, what is my topic in this blog?..uhm! ow, yap it is all about my continuing journey towards my goal of becoming a Certified Public Accountant. ( it is still a journey... why? read the succeeding paragraphs.)

Yesterday, 1,231 out of unknown number of examinees were declared newly CPA's. Wow, what is nice to hear, isn't? It's been a while when they just studied accountancy course and then tried their luck in the review for 6 months or maybe for some, more than 6 months or even years just to be included among the lists! I know that they have experienced a very tough struggle before they reached that momentum in their lives.

I am a graduate of BS Accountancy and I took that up for 5 years... for some it may seem too long, but for us, it as if that couple of years were still insufficient to know everything and be prepared for the very arduous board exam in town. I became so diligent in my studies then, I sacrificed a lot of things just to accomplished all the requirements, solved all accounting problems, studied all accounting reports, and most likely meet the expectations and pressures of my professors. all of these I did just for one purpose to be a licensed CPA.

Graduation marks the beginning of a new chapter, for graduates this may seem a start of venturing into a new life, a life within the 4 walls of huge offices, a life of facing the world of working environment. But this connotation is quite different for us, because graduation for us is just a start of great battle, a battle in facing our lives in the review school, a fight that will let us be away to our loved ones for a moment in time.

Coming May 2007, My classmates and I moved away to our new home in Manila, particularly in Espana. It was such a scary feeling the first time I stepped on the road of manila, maybe because for a fact that It is my first time to live here and also because of the environment itself. An environment that is quite dissimilar in the life in the province, but with the help of our Lord almighty, I was able to adjust myself easily and get at ease with the ambiance and the people.

The review was indeed very tiring, imagine We are going to wake up very early around 6am just to fix ourselves out and travel going to our review school which is PRTC located infront of UE, Manila Recto . Upon arriving the said school, We are going to get our reviewers for us to browse for a while and to be discussed during that day and the day after. I was very determined then at the start, but my determination was overshadowed by worries and expectations of families, relatives, friends, classmates and even my college school during the latter part of the review. I guess this is one big factor that made me so disturb during the board exam days.

October 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2007, the most awaited judgment days of all CPA reviewees, the days of our board exam. These days made our hearts beat so fast and minds so giggling... but out of it, the remarkable day for me, i guess is the last day, why? because it is also the day where i celebrate my birthday.... owwwww! what a birthday! a birthday full of prayers.... ehehehe. Prayers wishing that I will make it. During the evening, I thought my birthday would just end up like that, but i was wrong. the CPA examinees in our dorm prepared a simple farewell party for us to celebrate our last few days of stay, and the surprise in it... I was astonished because that evening as if became my birthday party, as they prepare some foods and take note,,, Richard from SLU, the Top 1 CPA Board Topnotcher then gave me a box of cake as a way of saying happy birthday... I was really touched because they made remember my day eventhough we just spend a few months together... The celebration didn't stop there, We also had some serious talks then of our plans after receiving the results,,, omg! I don't know what to say then, I just said definitely, I will celebrate and thank all the people who have prayed for me... Others said, they will spend a trip out of town to relax after a drastic review.

The day after the last day is the most crucial day of our lives, the result of the CPA Board Exam... I will never forget that moment, I was totally nervous, as if I'm competing for a pageant waiting for the winners to be announced... My whole body then was really shaking leading me not to eat my breakfast and lunch ( kaya pumayat lalo? eheh) The tense was really in its high level... Upon walking to CPAR, one of the CPA review schools, to see personally the results, I feel like an empty man not feeling anything.

Until We reached CPAR, this is it! We just said, most of the examinees were all shouting, You may hear somebody saying, "I made it!"... some were shouting very depressed saying what happen Lord!? Upon entering the vicinity of CPAR, you will be stopped by in some corridors as you see some examinees staying under the tables crying so loud as if a baby just came out from the womb of a mother. In short, variety of intense and mixed emotions really scattered the whole surroundings, and that is just normal. Upon reaching the wall were the results was posted. I rapidly look for the surnames who starts with letter "M" and with my frustration I wasn't there! WAAAAAAh! huhuhu! I askd my friend angela then how about her? She said very calmly, I also didn't made it ! ( Parang pasan namin ang daigdig nun!)

After seeing the nighmare results, We left very slowly CPAR... We were very silent while walking until I said to Angie, I guess We need a peaceful environment, We just go to UST First... UST became a witness of our crying moments then. We cried and cried until the last tears in our eyes fell down. Afterwards, We decided to come back to the dorm and upon taking the road going there, my mom unexpectedly called me, the only words I first said to my mom " Ma, Magreview ku ulit ne?" and my mom rapidly replied in a low voice " Wa" upon hearing that answer, I feel that there is still life after this... Yes! I said to myself, I am going to make it the 2nd time around.

I took up my second review at RESA Review School, one of the Top Caliber CPA Review Schools in the Philippines, but because I'm going to stay again in Manila and I need money to pay for my rent, I decided to work. With my luck, 4 days after the result in my 1st take... I was hired at Coca Cola Bottlers Phils. Inc. ( COKE) Manila as Commercial Finance Analyst. It was a very infrangible working and at the same time reviewing, it really takes a lot of efforts and time management to cope up with it... Due to the bulk of workloads, I decided to resign 3 months after... to focus on my review.

I came back to pampanga to have a self study in the weekdays and attend the review school in the weekends...My life then was full of pressures, maybe because it was already my 2nd take,,, but still Icontinued living fighting with those pressures... Until May 2008 came in the scene, the Board Exam days again, I feel so confident that I am going to make it this time, because I prepared so hard and my mind was absolutely focus that is why I was so depressed when I saw my name not in the lists again... I just didn't spoke up, I just don't know what to say with my shocked... I just said It's Gods will! He wanted this to happen.... In the first few weeks after the results, I tried to live a normal life,,, but its hard... until I decided to work again, in the Teaching Profession this time, and from then slowly I began to accept what happened.

Right now, I am taking up my Masters in Business Administration and I am enjoying studying again but still that does not stop me from hoping that someday I will also become a CPA like the 1,231 newly CPA's who were declared yesterday! I will also be seeing my printed name in that piece of bond paper!

A while ago my professor in ICT, said one quote which is somewhat related to what I shared at the moment,,, she said " Experience is what you get, when you don't get what you want" what a nice quote isn't? Yes i believe that is true, if that is not meant for you that will not be given, it is not yet your time to be one... Yes It is not yet my time to become a CPA but it will be soon!

ON BEING A GOOD TEACHER!!!

"1. Good Teachers Really Want to Be Good Teachers.

Good teachers try and try and try, and let students know they try. Just as we respect students who really try, even if they do not succeed in everything they do, so they will respect us, even if we are not as good as we want to be. And just as we will do almost anything to help a student who really wants to succeed, so they will help us to be good teachers if they sense that we are sincere in our efforts to succeed at teaching. Some things teachers can fake. Some things teachers must fake. We have, for example, to act our way into letting our students know that we can't think of any place we would rather be at 8:10 on a Friday morning than in a class with them talking about the difference between a comma splice and a run-on sentence. An acting course is a good preparation for a life in the classroom because it shows us how to pretend. Our students probably know on some level that we would rather be across the street sipping a cup of Starbucks coffee than caged up with 24 paste-faced first years who count on our joyous enthusiasm and enlivening wit to be the cup of Starbucks that will get them ready for their 9:10 class. But they will forgive our chicanery, even if they suspect that we are faking our joy. They will know it by the second day, however, if we don't really want to be good teachers, and they will have trouble forgiving us for that. Wanting-really, truly, honestly wanting-to be a good teacher is being already more than halfway home.

2. Good Teachers Take Risks.

Good teachers set themselves impossible goals, and then scramble to achieve them. If what they want to do is not quite the way it is usually done, they will risk doing it anyhow. Students like it when we take risks. One of my own favorite courses was a first-year writing course in which I ordered no writing textbook for the course. On the first day I announced, instead, that my students and I were going to spend a semester writing a short textbook on writing. It was, I said, to be an entirely upside-down course in which the students would write lots of essays, decide as a group which ones were best, and then try to determine in discussion what qualities the good ones had in common. Whenever we hit upon a principle that the good essays seemed to embody and that the weak papers did not, we would write it down. Then we eventually worked our discovered principles into a little textbook that the students could take home with them. It was a risky course. It was built on a crazy notion that first-year college students in a required writing course could, first of all, tell good writing from less-good writing, and, second, that they could articulate the principles that made the good essays better. My students knew I was taking a risk in setting the course up that way, but because they knew that my risk was based on my own faith and trust in them, they wanted me-they wanted us-to succeed.

We teachers have something called academic freedom. Too many of us interpret that to mean the freedom from firing. I suggest that we should interpret it rather as the freedom to take chances in the classroom. I love taking risks. It keeps some excitement in what is, after all, a pretty placid profession. I like to try things that can fail. If there is no chance of failure, then success is meaningless. It is usually easy enough to get permission to take risks, because administrators usually like it when teachers organize interesting and unusual activities. For some risky activities it may be best not to ask permission, partly because the risks that good teachers take are not really all that risky, and partly because it is, after all, easier to get forgiveness than to get permission. Teachers who regularly take risks usually succeed, and the more they succeed the more they are permitted-even expected-to take risks the next time. Taking risks gives teachers a high that is healthy for them and their students. It makes good teaching, good learning.

3. Good Teachers Have a Positive Attitude.

I don't much like being around people who are cynical about their work, who complain about students or student writing or student-athletes or fellow teachers or administrators or trustees or teaching loads or salaries. I occasionally succumb to cynicism myself, but I find that I don't much like myself when I am waxing cynical, and I try to unwax myself. I like humor, but not when it is directed against others. I distrust whiners who put themselves into the role of victims. "How can we do anything with the students the admissions office is sending us these days?" "My goodness, I've never had such a hopeless set of students." "Don't the high schools teach them anything anymore?" "How do they expect us to teach these kids at 8 a.m.? All they do is sleep after partying all night." "This profession surely isn't what it used to be. Why, I remember--" Casting ourselves in victims' roles gets us off the hook, but we teachers ought to enjoy being on the hook. We ought to enjoy, not eternally complain about, the challenges students give us. Why do we think we deserve smart, self-motivated, hard-working, wide-awake students-students who do not really need to be taught? Why do we think we deserve not to be challenged? I do not always succeed in being positive about my students or my job, but when I feel the need to scratch my cynical itch, I remind myself that the teachers I admire the more are sometimes frustrated, usually underpaid, always overworked, but rarely cynical or negative, and then almost never about students.

4. Good Teachers Never Have Enough Time.

Just about all of the good teachers I have known are eternally busy. They work 80-100 hour weeks, including both Saturdays and Sundays. Their spouses and families complain, with good reason, that they rarely see them. The reward for all this busy-ness is more busy-ness. The good teachers draw the most students, get the most requests for letters of recommendation, work most diligently at grading papers, give the most office hours and are most frequently visited during those office hours, are most in demand for committee work, work hardest at class preparations, work hardest at learning their students' names, take the time to give students counsel in areas that have nothing to do with specific courses, are most involved in professional activities off campus.

For good teachers the day is never done. While it does not follow that any teacher who keeps busy is a good teacher, the good teachers I know rarely have time to relax. The good teachers I know find that they are as busy teaching two courses as teaching three. They know that they do a much better job with the two courses than the three because they give more time to the individual students, but they also know that for a responsible teacher the work of good teaching expands to fill every moment they can give to it. They might well complain about how busy they are, but they rarely complain, partly because they don't want to take the time to, partly because they don't like whining. Actually, they seem rather to like being busy. To put it more accurately, they like helping students-singular and plural-and have not found many workable shortcuts to doing so.

5. Good Teachers Think of Teaching as a Form of Parenting.

No one likes to think of college teaching as in loco parentis, but the best teachers I know seem to find that their best teaching feels a lot like parenting. By that they do not mean that as teachers they set curfews or lock the dorms up at 11 p.m. or take away television privileges for students who get below a C or confiscate X-rated videos or Jack Daniels. It does not mean that they offer sex education (though they will, if a student trusts them enough to ask), and it does not mean that they offer spiritual instruction (unless a student asks them to). But good teachers seem to find that the caring that goes into their teaching feels a lot like the caring that goes into parenting. It means knowing when to stand firm on a deadline or a standard of excellence, and when to bend or apologize. It means knowing when to give students someone to talk with, when to be the rock that students can test themselves by trying to move out of the way, when to protect students from the ugly evils of the world, and when to let them face those evils in all of their ugliness. It means knowing the difference between soft caring and tough caring. It means recognizing that students are adults, sort of, but children, sort of.

Looking back, I know that as a student I found several father and mother figures among my teachers. And now, at a time in my life when all four of my own children are in graduate school, I know that they are finding replacement parents out there, teachers who are continuing and in some ways correcting the job my wife and I did as parents. But mostly I know that I feel especially comfortable with college students these days. Having just come away from years of parenting young people very much like the ones I see in my classrooms, I feel that I know them, their insecurities, their problems, their capacities. I feel that I have a reasonably sure instinct about when to stand firm and when to bend, when to be someone to talk with and when to say "Well, see you in class tomorrow" and when to say "Got time for a coffee?" Actually, it feels a lot like love.

6. Good Teachers Try to Give Students Confidence.

I have come to the conclusion that the specific subject matter I teach is less important for itself than for what students learn by learning it. My Chaucer students can for the most part get along in life just fine without knowing much about Chaucer's language or the Canterbury Tales or why the low-class Miller feels free enough to tell a raunchy tale in reply to the tale of the high-class Knight. My Chaucer students cannot get along, however, without the confidence they gain by mastering a new language, learning to understand what social classes were in Chaucer's time, and why a miller would, in the carnival atmosphere of pilgrimage, feel enough courage to joust verbally with a knight. When students write papers, it is far less important that they say something worth reading about the Wife of Bath's fifth husband than that they develop the confidence to know that, when they really do have something important to say, they will be able to say it clearly, forcefully, and with a proper marshaling of evidence.

Allen, one of my best students in 1995, did well on tests and papers, but refused to speak in class. In a conference I asked him why, since he was doing so well, he would not contribute to the classroom discussion. "I guess it kind of scares me," he replied, "with all of those really smart students in there saying intelligent things. I learn more if I just listen." I understood, of course, because I gave similar excuses when I was an undergraduate. Like Allen, I counted on hard work and good test and paper grades to pull me through, but I never talked in class. I told Allen he was as smart and as articulate as anyone in the class, and I hoped he would feel comfortable sharing his ideas with the rest of us. I told him that the most of those other students looked and sounded smart in part because I tried always to find something in what they said to praise, because I had tried to develop a knack for creatively rephrasing what they said so they sounded smart, and that if necessary I would do the same for his comments. Shortly after that, he did, once, offer a comment in class, and I said something encouraging about it. But then he clammed up again for the rest of the semester.

About a week after the last class, Allen came in and asked if I would write letters of recommendation for him for his applications to law school. I said I would, of course, but when I found out about his desire to be a lawyer, I knew I should have pressed him even harder to be more aggressive in class. How much of a future is there, after all, for a smart lawyer who does well on tests but is afraid to speak his mind in front of others? Allen will do all right, of course, and he will gain the confidence he needs to succeed in his profession, but I wish I had pushed him harder while I had the chance to force him to feel the confidence he has every right to feel. I think I should have tried harder to knock him off balance.

7. Good Teachers Try to Keep Students-And Themselves-Off Balance.

I have learned that when I am comfortable, complacent, and sure of myself I am not learning anything. The only time I learn something is when my comfort, my complacence, and my self-assurance are threatened. Part of my own strategy for getting through life, then, has been to keep myself, as much as possible, off balance. I loved being a student, but being a student meant walking into jungles where I was not sure my compass worked and didn't know where the trails might lead or where the tigers lurked. I grew to like that temporary danger. I try to inject some danger into my own courses, if only to keep myself off balance. When I feel comfortable with a course and can predict how it will come out, I get bored; and when I get bored, I am boring. I try, then, to do all I can to keep myself learning more. I do that in part by putting myself in threatening situations.

8. Good Teachers Try to Motivate Students by Working Within Their Incentive System.

Most undergraduate students of my generation-at least the ones at Earlham College, where I took my bachelor's degree-were eager to serve their fellow humans. Most of the undergraduates I encounter these days, on the other hand, are eager to make a lot of money. Some humanities teachers complain about the crassness of these students. Others try to figure out ways to use their students' desire for financial security to motivate them. They point out that many business executives were liberal arts majors in college, and that while a good liberal arts background does not always help college graduates get their first jobs in business and industry, once they have that first job they tend to advance more rapidly than graduates with more narrowly technical degrees. They point out that liberal arts graduates know how to synthesize things, how to explain things to others, how to persuade others to their point of view, how to understand the people who many any business work. In English departments, I sometimes point out, we teach students all sorts of money-making skills, like reading and analysis, speaking and writing, picking up ideas quickly, critical thinking, psychology, pedagogy, pattern-finding, drawing conclusions from evidence, persuasion, and so on. We also encourage students to think about why they are on earth, about where they are going, about what some of the greatest thinkers and most creative writers in the past have said about the meaning of human existence, about what is most worth doing in life, and about how wealthy people might best spend their hard-earned money. Good teachers do not complain about how crass the students are these days. They try to understand what makes students tick these days, and then they build on that knowledge to make them tock.

9. Good Teachers Do Not Trust Student Evaluations Neither do bad teachers.

But there is a difference in their reasons for distrusting them. I have noticed that good teachers, when they get really good evaluations, don't quite believe them. They focus instead on the one or two erratic evaluations that say something bad about them. They good teachers tend to trust only the negative evaluations: "I wonder what I did wrong. I suppose I went too fast, or perhaps I should have scheduled in another required conference after that second test. I wish I could apologize to them, or at least find out more about what I did wrong." The not-so-good teachers also do not trust student evaluations, but they distrust them for difference reasons. They tend to trust the positive evaluations but not the negative ones: "Those good evaluations are proof that I succeeded, that my methods and pace were just about right for these students. The others just fell behind because they were lazy, because they never bothered to read the book or study for the exams. Naturally they did not like my course because they put nothing into it. Besides, how can students judge good teaching, and anyhow, what do they know? Anyone can get good student evaluations by lowering their standards, being popular, and by pandering to the masses." Good teachers tend to discount the positive evaluations, however numerous they may be; less-good teachers tend to discount the negative evaluations, however numerous they may be.

10. Good Teachers Listen to Their Students.

Shortly after I read Professor Levi's statement that no one has ever defined what makes a good teacher, I asked the students in my undergraduate Chaucer course at Baylor University (where I was a visiting professor during 1995-96), to write a sentence or two about what, in their own experience, makes a good teacher. The responses ranged widely, but I sorted through the pieces of paper on which they wrote them and put them in different piles. Then I combined the piles into ones that seemed to be generically related. Then I combined the piles into ones that seemed to be generically related. Three quarters of their responses fell into two piles. The first of those I call the "A" pile, the second I call the "E" pile.

In the "A" pile I found words like "accessible," "available," and "approachable." Here are some of the sentences they wrote in response to my question, "What makes a good teacher?" I have edited them slightly, mostly to put them into more parallel constructions:

Good teachers:

are available to assist students with questions on the subject, and they show concern.
do not have a lofty, standoffish attitude.
can interact with a student on an individual basis.
want to know each individual student.
give time, effort, and attention to their students.
are personable, on your side.
are willing to be a friend to students.
are actually interested in the students.
are actively involved with their students.
are first friends, then educators. The friend encourages, supports, and understands; the educator teaches, challenges, and spurs the student on.

In the "E" pile I found words like "enthusiastic," "energetic," "excited":

Good teachers:

love what they teach and convey that love to the class.
have both an enthusiasm for and an encyclopedic knowledge of the subject.
have such an obvious enthusiasm for what they do that it is contagious and their students pick up on it.
have a desire to learn, and for others to learn, all of the exciting things they have learned.
are obviously excited about teaching. When a teacher enjoys teaching, it is usually obvious, and that enjoyment is passed on to the students. The classes I've had with teachers who loved the subject they were teaching are the ones I've enjoyed the most, and the ones I've been the most eager to learn in. A teacher who isn't enthusiastic can ruin even the most fascinating of subjects.

These students are English majors at a Christian university in Texas. Their answers might well not ring as true for computer science majors at MIT in Massachusetts. The point is not that all good teachers must be available to their students and enthusiastic about what they teach-though that is surely not bad advice for anyone aspiring to be a good teacher. The point is that good teachers listen to what their students try to tell them about what makes a good teacher.

Hey, I've done it! Good teachers are those who want to be good teachers, who take risks, who have a positive attitude, who never have enough time, who think of teaching as a form of parenting, who try to give students confidence at the same time that they push them off balance, who motivate by working within the students' incentive systems, who do not trust student evaluations, and who listen to students. Who says no one has ever defined what makes a good teacher?

I just came from Robinsons Pampanga, just to have my cellphone repair because of malfunctioning, until i dropped by over the cinema to see what are the movies shown today... I was glad to see that the most awaited movie of mine is now in theaters cinema 4 and 5 of Robinsons Pampanga, "the angels and demons"... But i was quite disappointed because the staff informed me that Cinema 4 is not anymore available due to the bulk of number of moviegoers inside... as I have seen Cinema 5 schedule ,iIhave to wait for 1 hour and 10minutes just to watch the beginningof the movie. So I decided to watched first Best Friends Forever, oneof the most funniest and endearing movie I ever watched... I can't hide my feelings of laughters upon watching this movie,,, Sharon and Ai Ai are absolutely great in this movie... This is really intended for families and our kadas!

After watching BFF, I rapidly went to Cinema 5 to watched Angels and Demons ( Eje! adik sa movie, pinanood talaga lahat! ganito talaga me pag gusto ko, watch talaga lahat! waha) anyway back to my story, story? whaha! whatever it may call... Upon entering the Cinema, I was wondering where will I seat,so i went in the balcony, but with my shock, I saw one of my students... Eje, I felt a little bit shy because I'm Watching all alone, but what is the matter,isn't? ejeje...so i just went on...

Upon watching the movie, I can't control myself to be amaze of the flow of the story itself and my God its effects really shakes my heart off...ahaha... I was a little bit emotional seeing 3 of the pillars of the church in this movie who happens to be candidates for being a pope after the death of the late Pope John Paul II dying caused and done by the illuminati group, the ever history enemies of the catholic church...

But with the help of Prof. Robert Langdon, a Professor in the Harvard University who played by the ever awarded actor, Tom Hanks...The Illuminati Time Bomb placed in the vatican's premises was stopped and put the vatican's in its peaceful mode.

The movie was really something to watched for, there are variety of twists especially in the end of the story... Thumbs up! for the Director of this film, which is undoubtably enormous...

As I finished watching the movie, I was able to reflect how much I Love my Catholic Religion and GOD !. It is a question of what can I do to save the earth from evil? simply, to do what is right, and deepen my faith and devotion to HIM. How about you?

EXPLORING THE SPLENDOR OF BETIS CHURCH

"The baroque-inspired Betis Church was built around 1660 and it was headed by Father Jose de la Cruz. The preliminary structure was made out of light materials which was composed mainly of wood and stucco. Fire broke out within the church several times due to these light materials so it was finally built with concrete materials in 1770.In the last quarter of 19th century, Father Manuel Camañes dug an artesian well on the north-side of the church which served as a source of potable water not only for the Betis townsfolk, but to the other nearby towns as well. On the other hand, the present-day concrete fence with caryatids was built in the 2nd quarter of the 20th century.

In 1908, the rectory of the church was burned with fire and all the documents about baptism and other historical catalogues of the church turned into ashes.Beautification of the interior part of the church was extensively done by the last Spanish priest named Father Santiago Blanco in 1939. The ceiling paintings were repainted by a native of San Agustin named Macario Ligon. His assistant named Victor Ramos, who was in his teen years then was also the one who restored these paintings in the 1970s.During the Spanish-Colonial period, Betis is an independent town which has its own autonomy as a municipality. But due to migration of its inhabitants to the nearby Guagua in the American Period, it was merged to this town in 1904 under the Act 943. Today, although part of the municipality of Guagua, the Betis church has its own parochial priest and has its patron saint named St. James the Great. "

It was such a tremendous day for me as I woke up in the morning thinking that I am going to visit the Famous and Historical Betis Church... Honestly speaking, this is just my 2nd time to see this church, the first one was when we had our pilgrimage wayback 5 to 6 years ago as part of the activity of the Archdiocesan Youth day. When I started creating this blog, this church was the one who first came into my mind to explore, but as you observed this is not the first one whom i featured... There is a purpose definitely! Whatever it is I guess is not anymore matter...

Betis Church is absolutely one of the oldest churches in the Philippines like the one that I've visited a few weeks ago, the San Guillermo Parish Church in Bacolor. But beyond its being old, you will be fascinated by its creative and unique features and designs as you enter the whole vicinity. How do I say this so? come and join me as we explore the radiance inside of it...

Walking inside the church is like watching paintings in a certain museum because of its undeniably gratifying view, while roaming around, I can't avoid saying " Wow! This is great" The kapampangans should really be very proud of having a church as lovely as this. The Ceiling and Walls of the Church are painted with murals of the Holy family, selected scenes from Jesus Life, Catholic saints and cherubs. It depicts as well how religious filipinos are, especially kapampangans.

Betis is known for having enormous woodcarvers and wood sculptors. their works are not known only locally but even international. This church is also where Fr. Eddie Panlilio, The controversial Governor of Pampanga came from. Yes, He became a parish priest here before He decided to enter politics, that is why it is not even a doubt that this church is indeed historical.

Because of its being prominent, some scenes in the different movies or televisions were shoot here...

" Icons placed inside niches in successive stories are predominant in churches built by the Augustinians during the spanish colonial period in the Philippines called a "RETABLO", this structure showcases the religious patrons of every community. Betis has one of the magnificent Retablos built by the Augustinians orderd in the last quarter of the 18th Century."

While I am taking pictures, I was wondering why the Security Guard of the church keeps on looking at me, until I approached and asked him some questions. He told me that the church as much as possible is letting others refraining from taking pictures of the RETABLO, which i featured above. For a reason that He explained there was an incident happened two or three years ago, the pictures that was taken by certain individuals used those in creating posters and cards which they sell to the public. In short, they used the picture of the image of the Retablo for earning purposes. From then on, The church became so strict!

In addition, the latter also informed me that the 15 icons in the retablo were all preserved images as in if the church is more than 400 years old, the images were preserved for that long years.

Upon hearing that, I realized that the church is indeed sacred.

My visit there is not just a personal adventure, but it is a spiritual journey, a journey which made my faith even deeper!

COFFEE ADDICT? VISIT COFFEE OVERDOSE

The summer is about to end , and yet is not a question that we still experience the hot environment within our own community... So it is not a doubt that Ice Cream, Ice Shakes, cold beverages and even cold coffee are of in demand nowadays. Late afternoon of May 9, 2009 when I and my friends decided to hang out somewhere in Dolores at Q1 Diners Cafe,,, but unfortunately the car is not available so it is not possible... I simply remembered during that moment that one time i drop by Mother Teresa of Calcutta Medical Center which is located just a few steps in our " kanto' at Pilar Village and saw a new establishment right beside the hospital, the Coffee Overdose... I am fond of Coffee especially cold ones so I suggested to my friends that we must just go there!

We arrrived in the place around 6pm, and We were welcomed wholeheartedly by one of the staff , his name is " EM"... Upon entering the store, I was astonished because there are no customers inside so I and my friends didn't avoid to chat so loud because nobody will hear us... ejeje... While waiting for our order " Choco Mudslide which is their specialty and Nachos which are absolutely palatable and cheaper than the ones in starbucks because I am regularly been there when I'm free, We didn't wasted out time so we took some pictures of the place which I will be using in creating this new post. We also had the time to know the staff even better, We exchange Cellphone numbers and emails for us to keep in touch and so that if I will visit again there, I will just text him so that I will be accomodated well again and have some discounts for the 2nd time... Discount? Yes, We're very fortunate because it is our first time to visit the place and yet because the staff and us became friends then He gave us discounts with the permission of his boss definitely... Thanks also for his boss! haha!

The simple but exciting trip was indeed something which made our night wonderful... We went home filled with happiness because of the fascinating experience that we had...

MT. ARAYAT NATIONAL PARK ESCAPADE

"An extinct volcano measuring 3,715 ha was declared as a National Park in 1933 intended for eco-tourism with overriding concern on conservation and preservation of the natural resources. The park is located at the municipality of Arayat in the province of Pampanga. The lush vegetation of the area nurtures wide variety of wild animals. On the foot the mountain is a picnic ground surrounded by lush foliage, waterfalls, fish ponds, swimming pools and other recreational facilities.The Mt. Arayat National Park is one of the best places to trek. It has two trails going to the peak: peak 1 can be accessed from the municipality of Arayat, while the peak 2 can be access from the municipality of Magalang. There are two trails going to the peak of the mountain. It will take 3-4 hours hiking before reaching the peak 1. This peak has a spectacular panoramic view of Central Luzon: on the west is the view of the Pampanga River and the mountains of Zambales and Bataan while on the east is a magnificent view of the mountains of Sierra Madre range."

Last Thursday, 7th day of March, a declared holiday in the province of Pampanga, in lieu of the celebration of the 67th death anniversary of Jose Abad Santos was such a great day for me. It was in the evening of tuesday when i texted a good friend of mine and ask her if she can accompany me in Exploring Mt. Arayat National Park... I was filled with joy then when she rapidly replied " Yes". I just told myself " Wow, this is another adventure i should look forward to. Day after, Typhoon Emong came in and draw off heavy rains affecting The whole Central Luzon, Obviously! Pampanga is affected...huhuhu! I felt quite sadden and thought that time that how is the trip the next day, Ow! i'm sure it will be postpone if this turbulent rains will continue... So what happened after, I didn't anymore waited for the next day. I disappointedly texted swiftly my friend informing her that we must cancel the tour the next day due to the bad weather conditions.

Coming thursday morning, The rain is still continuing its flow and as minute pass by it became more and more drastic... Hay! I just said as i woke up that terrible morning. The Holy spirit came in the afternoon, the weather is progressively becoming better, Uhm! as i was thinking during that moment. What if i will visit Mt. Arayat already even though I'm all alone because my friend then is not anymore available in the afternoon... Different decisions came in my mind, that i will just go to angeles and surf the net to research for my term paper, then tour somewhere there, or just stay at home or go on with the original plan of visiting Mt. Arayat. I don't know what happen, but a voice came in saying " Mt. Arayat" so without any more questions, I went to Arayat National Park and the adventure started in...ehehe! adik diba?

While riding the jeepney going to Arayat, The rain came in once again... I felt kinda worried because my travel might be put at risk but still with my strong faith to our dear Almighty, I decided to move on with my journey... eje ( Tapang noh? kahit umuulan susuungin parin!) I always live up by the saying if there is a will there is a way, so there is a way for me to escape and have the travel successful as i was thinking during that minute. I came in the vicinity of Mt. Arayat National Park at exactly 2: 45 pm and the weather is kinda not so good. As i entered there is only few people around 10 in number as i remember ( Syempre, Bumabagyo kaya! wala talagang pupunta... wahahaha) As i view the whole spot, I discover some things, the park is not anymore as beautiful as i've seen in the other pictures before. With that, i feel quite frustrated, but since i was there already and spent money... I just enjoyed my stay thru taking pictures as you have seen now and exploring some sides of the place.

Despite the road that i'm taking was too elusive then, that doesn;t stop me from experiencing stepping up what they call the 100 steps going to the mountain itself... It was enjoy and sort of tired going up but that is ok, what I'm just thinking then was to make my trip more delightful... As I finished taking the 100 steps, it feels quite relieve as i view the other side of it. I wish to go up further but since I'm all alone, it would be of dangerous there might be some NPA's roaming around... ejeje! I still love my life! For safety reasons, I didn't stay in the vicinity that long. What is important i was able to go back there after 8 years.

As i go home, I just realized that I didn't made a wrong decision of unexpectedly going there eventhough the weather is not so pleasant, If you really want to achieve something, act and do it, if that will make you happy... Indeed that is also what my father have told me before " Don't deprive your happiness"

JOSE ABAD SANTOS: A KAPAMPANGAN HERO

This day is very remarkable in the lives of kapampangans... why? because it is in this day that we commemorate the 67th death anniversary of our late Jose Abad Santos, who is considered as one of our National Hero... Take note He is a Kapampangan!

This day was marked as a Holiday in the whole province of Pampanga in lieu of the celebration, that is why i was given the chance to visit one of Pampanga's tourist spots, the MT. Arayat National Park, which i will feature in my next blog... So Watch out!

By the way, I'm sure not all of us knew this man and how he became heroic... Let us know him better!

"José Abad Santos y Basco (February 19, 1886—May 7, 1942) was the 5th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines. He was executed by Japanese forces during the occupation of the Philippines in World War II.

Abad Santos was born in San Fernando City, Pampanga to Vicente Abad Santos and Toribia Basco. His brother, Pedro, would eventually emerge as a leading socialist leader during the Commonwealth era. In 1904, he was sent to the United States as a government pensionado. He finished a pre-law course at the Santa Clara College in Santa Clara, California; his Bachelor of Laws at Northwestern University in Urbana, Illinois; and his Masters of Laws at George Washington University in 1909. Admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1911, he served as Assistant Attorney at the Bureau of Justice from 1913 to 1917.

In 1919, Abad Santos would become instrumental in laying the legal groundwork as well as drafting the by-laws and constitution of the Philippine Women's University, the country's and Asia's first private non-sectarian institution for higher learning for women.

He was later appointed the first Filipino corporate lawyer of the Philippine National Bank, Manila Railroad Company and other government corporations. He returned to the Department of Justice where he became Attorney-General, Undersecretary of Justice then Secretary of Justice from 1921 to 1923. In July 1923, he resigned as Secretary of Justice together with other department secretaries as a result of the controversy between Governor-General Leonard Wood and Filipino leaders.

Abad Santos then served as Chief Counsel of the President of the Philippine Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. In 1926 he went to the United States as head of the Philippine Educational Mission. He was again appointed Secretary of Justice in 1928 and re-appointed on July 1, 1931. In 1932, he became an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. He became its Chief Justice on December 24, 1941. As part of the emergency reorganization of the Commonwealth government, Abad Santos, in his capacity as Chief Justice, was given the responsibilities previously handled by the Secretary of Justice (the position of Secretary of Justice was abolished for the duration of the war). Abad Santos accompanied the Commonwealth government to Corregidor, where on December 30, 1941, he administered the oath of office to President Quezon and Vice-President Osmeña for the second term they'd been elected to in November of that year. He also undertook, with Manuel Roxas, the supervision of the destruction of Commonwealth government currency to prevent its falling into enemy hands.

When President Manuel L. Quezon left for the United States via Australia, Chief Justice Abad Santos was given the choice to leave with him. But the latter preferred to remain in the Philippines and carry on his work and stay with his family. President Quezon appointed him Acting President with full authority to act in the name of, and on behalf, of the President of the Philippines in areas unoccupied by the Japanese. On April 11, 1942, he and his son Jose, Jr. were captured by the Japanese while traveling by automobile in Carcar, Cebu. He identified himself as the chief justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines. Abad Santos and his son were then taken to a concentration camp.

When asked to cooperate with the Japanese forces in the Philippines, he refused to do so. Although he had nothing to do with military operations, they imputed to him the destruction of the bridges and other public works in Cebu.

The Japanese High Command took him and his son to Parang, Cotabato in April 1942. The next day they were brought to Malabang, Lanao, and after three days confinement at the constabulary barracks, Chief Justice Abad Santos was called to Japanese headquarters. He was executed at 2:00 p.m., on May 7, 1942."

SIFE NATIONAL COMPETITION IN MAKATI CITY

Participating students form teams on their university campuses and apply business concepts to develop outreach projects that improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need. An annual series of regional and national competitions provides a forum for teams to present the results of their projects, and to be evaluated by business leaders serving as judges. National champion teams advance to the prestigious SIFE World Cup. In addition to the community aspect of the program, SIFE’s leadership and career initiatives create meaningful opportunities for learning and exchange among the participants as well as the placement of students and alumni with companies in search of emerging talent."

I am not supposed to upload this in my blog, but i realize that why not share to the public readers the glory that we've got when we joined and competed in the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) National Competition held last July of 2008 in Dusit Thani Hotel, one of the famous and lovely hotels in Makati.

SIFE Organization as stated above is a non- profit organization which helps improve and strenghten communities and develop socially responsible business leaders. This Competition is being participated by the different schools all over the world represented by the top caliber students of each educational institutions.

St. Nicolas College of Business and Technology was the only school who was chosen to represent pampanga during the said competition... so the pressure in us then was too intense. Our preparation was indeed too short but that does not stop us from giving our very best. We trained our students very tight, We the Professors spend most of our time giving them some cues on how will they speak in front of the judges, how will they answer possible questions and the most important We instill to their minds what is the competition all about, its relevance to them being a student and its impact to the society.

We admit that there are times then that we wanna quit because of so many barriers that hinders us from our preparation, but what keeps us still motivated, it is the trust given by the school to us that we can make it and our deepest faith in the Lord.

Th Sife Team SNC proposed as its competition piece an innovative product, " Tilapia Sausage" which Pampanga is very rich of its raw materials. Our Primary beneficiaries for this project were the people of Candaba, particularly the women. We gave them intensive seminars on the process of coming up with this idea, how to make this product, how will it help them, their family and as well their communities. As a finale, We even gave then some information of its waste disposal. Through this, We were able to help them to be entrepreneurs of their own by starting this simple but profitable business.

Various schools all over the philippines participated in the said competition, all of us striving for one goal to win and be part of the SIFE World Cup, where various countries will be participating. In the latter, 4 out of less than 20 schools including us, will move on to the final round. San Beda College got the 1st place followed by the other schools from visayas and mindanao. We were very unfortunate because we rank number 5... and according to the Chairman, we are just 1 point away from the finals.... OW! How sad to hear, but still were happy because imagine it is our first time to join but we invaded other schools and still in the 5th place. So that is really something to be proud of. At least we won in our own way!

In the evening, We had the chance to mingle with the other schools as the organizers prepared a cocktail dinner for us... It was fun! Great!

The said event was indeed an unforgettable moment because we became part of this prestigious and world class competition!

MUSEONG KAPAMPANGAN: EXPLORING KAPAMPANGAN CULTURE

Museong Kapampangan located at the 2nd Floor of Clark Museum, Clark Field Pampanga corroborates the relics and native furnitures, equipments and other materials used by early kapampangans.

I am not supposed to visit this place but a kindhearted security guard approached me and tells me " May Museong Kapampangan Exhibit pa sa taas baka gusto mo ring tignan." I was astonished with what I heard, I just replied " ow? totoo?, cge puntahan ko din." I did'nt knew that we have collections of kapampangan relics and so forth...

Upon going to the 2nd floor, i felt the excitement inside because of the expected preserved furnitures that I am going to see.

Upon entering the room, these are the equipments which fascinated me most.

Here they are guys, in the image 1 shows the mortar and pestle which is being used by our grandparents in making " Maman" in the earlier times. he3. I hope my kapampangan word is correct, I am not familiar anyway! ehe... In the next image showcases the various furnitures used.

In one corner of the room, you can view the clothes worn, the furnitures used and the remnant of the late President Diosdado Macapagal Arroyo, who is the loving father of our current President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Sorry if i was not able to take pictures of those... i didn't have enough time. Promise! next time i will go back there and take other pictures which I will post here in my blog.

I am also grateful during that day because i was well accomodated by a lady guard, sorry i was not able to ask her name to be recognize, i will ask her name next time. waha!

REMINISCING THE PAST AT CLARK MUSEUM

Diverse logos and plaques of the early members of the air force were also being diplayed together with the clothing ware of John Stotsenberg who was a Captain of the Sixth U.S. Cavalry, and a Colonel of the First Nebraska Volunteers. " Clarkfield was bombed by the Japanese on December 8, 1941 signalling the start of the World War II in the Philippines." ( Source: Clark Museum). Various buttons being used in the early days were also preserved and being exhibited in the museum.

I was very lucky that i was able to visit this place,,, lucky in a sense that i was able to let myself look back of what happens in the past... I also appreciated even better all the people who has made this museum possible... I salute them for coming up with an exhibit as educational like this.

I wanted to extend my gratitude to the lady security guard, i forgot to ask her name, for the very warm accomodation she gave me while i am at the vicinity. By the way if you want to visit the place, just ride route 2 from the clark main gate and tell the driver to drop you at clark museum and pay an Entrance fee of P 30...

The experience is undeniably awesome... till my next travel!

INSIDE CLARK: CAFE MESA

I left Clark Terminal in OG Road Dolores at 10:45 am passing by NLEX and Dau Mabalacat with a good weather condition... Thanks to God.he3. As I'm riding the jeepney, i can't control but ask if where will I first tour myself at Clark for it has so many beautiful and lovely spots. Until a friend of mine sent me a message that i have to try one of the famous and unique coffee shop bar at Clark, The Cafe Mesa... " Ok", i said, sounds interesting,,, " Let's make it try"

It was exactly 11:15 am when i arrived at Clark Main Gate thinking what route i am going to ride on going to Cafe Mesa, so i asked one of the jeepney drivers in the terminal and gave me a cue that it was route 2... So that was it, The adventure began!

I felt so overwhelmed with the very passionate welcome that the employees and even the manager of Cafe Mesa gave me. Seeing the place seems to be just as ordinary as the others which i've been went through, but did you know that there is this secret that i personally discovered about the place which I believe is one reason why the bar is very famous and attractive to filipino and foreign customers... The bar has its variety of enchanting designs of furnitures which are really very pleasing to the eye.

Another thing, their foods are absolutely appetizing... in fact, i tried one of their best selling pica-pica,,, the Quesadilla ( Pork or Beef) which costs P 230. It is like a pizza but it is more than that, you must try it! I partnered it with their unique and amazing Choco Frost which amounts to more than P 160... I am not sure with the exact price because i was discounted then.he3.

The bar also has its captivating terrace just a few steps away from the dining area. From there, you can view the exquisite Clark Parade Grounds where the statue of John Stotsenberg was being built.

In addition, The latter also has its function hall which is good for 30 persons... so if you have simple gatherings or celebrations... You just have it there! Your money is worthy.

By the way, Cafe Mesa is open everyday from 7 am to 12mn, so if you have time take a little of your day dropping by to see its cozy ambiance...

A JOURNEY AT SAN GUILLERMO PARISH, BACOLOR PAMPANGA

THE PHOTOGRAPH OF THE CHURCH BEFORE THE LAHAR...

" San Guillermo Parish Church is one of the oldest and largest churches in the Philippines. It was accepted as an Augustinian convent on December 31, 1576 on the lot owned by Don Guillermo Manabat. The church was restored by Fr. Manuel Diaz in 1897. The church boasts of having main retablo, side retablos and pulpit that are heavily gilded with gold leaves. The rich decorations of the church depict the Baroque style of architecture.

Only half of the original facade of the church can be seen today due to the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991 which half-buried the church. After the volcanic eruption, the town’s people painstakingly excavated the altar and the retablo and relocated it under the dome in order for the tall wooden retablo to fit. The retablos niches are filled with centuries- old statues which were saved from destruction of the lahar.

The citizens of Bacolor take pride in their rich heritage which is why they carefully excavated the ornately carved main and side altars and restored in its immaculate condition. The church is already a world famous tourist destination prior to the lahar tragedies and present has remained being so.

The San Guillermo Parish Church was named after the town’s Patron Saint, San Guillermo. This Philippine Religious Heritage was originally constructed by the Augustinian Friars in 1576 with Fr. Diego De Ochoa, OSA, as the first town’s parish priest. In 1880, the Church was destroyed by an earthquake only to be rebuilt by Father Eugenio Alvarez in 1886. On September 3, 1995, lahar flow from the slopes of Mount Pinatubo which was erupted on June 15, 1991, buried the church at half its 12 meter height."

NOW HERE ARE THE PHOTOS OF THE HISTORIC CHURCH AFTER THE SAID MUD-FLOW...

It was such a fair weather morning of April 28 when I and my friends decided to visit one of the historic churches in Pampanga, The San Guillermo Parish Church located at Bacolor Pampanga. It was exactly 8:15 am when we arrived in the place, it was so silent and still no visitors inside. Upon entering the vicinity of the church, We felt the holy spirit is welcoming us in the said alluring and enchanting church. There is already an enormous difference about the features of the historic church from its original construction to its present condition due to the lahar floods, but still the beauty of it remains.

For your information, if you are an avid viewer of " May Bukas Pa" in Primetime Bida of Channel 2... it is in this church where they shoot most of the scenes of the said teledrama.

According to the people near the church, There are a lot of tourists coming from varied locations who drops by everyday just to see the place where the said scenes is being taken and to have a glimpse of the preserved attributes of it.

The 45 minutes visit was indeed an exceptional experience, an experience that will always reminds me of the splendor of San Guillermo Parish Church...

March 28-29, 2009- A day to remember for us Campus Ministry Volunteers Alumni. it is a day where we took a break from our respective work just to give way in this special event to be together and remember the days when we were still volunteers in the ministry. The group decided to held its outing at Villa Antonina Resort located at Baliti Road Panipuan, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

It is not my first time to hear this resort, i almost hear this to some of my friends and tells me that it is indeed an incredible resort. Upon hearing it, it slips my mind and telling, " oh i guess this is just a typical resort that i've been through"

Until the day when we got there, entering the place as if you were in a far place. because of its peaceful and cozy ambiance. I felt this feeling of warmth in my body when i saw its amicable environment.

We were supposed to be 17 who will celebrate the said event, but unfortunately 8 of which did'nt made it because of vital reasons. But despite of the half of the number who were not around, this does not stop us from spending the rest of the days with one another in the pool and in the ever beautiful cottage who happens to be different from the other cottages. ( It's absolutely nice!)

I felt the joy inside of me seeing my friends in the organization. Like what i've said in my previous blog, I almost spend my life being with this organization during my college years.

I believe we are going to be much happier in the outing, if our OM and CM directors. Fr. Melchor Sitchon, Fr. Jonathan Bartolome and Fr. Israel Bong Garcia came through with us. But that is just fine, We knew that eventhough they are not physically present during those days, they were emotionally and sharing the delightful moments with us.

the two day event did not only depicts the closeness of our friendship but how much We love God even better...

It was December of 2008, when my classmates in high school batch 2002 organized a get together for us to see each other once again and update one another about the latest in us... it was such a fun-filled night as we had our dinner in the most captivating and famous food outlet in town" Gerry's Grill" located at SM City Pampanga, beside Sushi-Ya. It was an Unforgettable evening as we see each other after a certain while narrating all of the the things that happened in our lives. a little bit number of my classmates in High School are now closer to their dream of becoming a Doctor, Yes 3 of them will move through in their last year in Medicine sometime in June. ( Wow! Awesome, Go! Go!) Most of them are now working in reputable and respected companies in Makati and Manila and holding positions in the higher level of Management. it is gracious that once in a while, We take a little break and bond to prove that our batch remains strong and intact.

The Fabulous evening was even made great with the food that we ordered, Sizzling Tuna Sisig, which is a favorite of mine, a taste of it will surely relief your stress. Try it! How can i forget the even more delicious chopseuy, which made the group's favorite. he3, it is as if eating like there was no tomorrow. How about the Inihaw na Pusit which is undeniably palatable of its taste and others.

Th 3 hour picture taking, chikahan and asaran was indeed something that should be remembered every now and then. Till Next time Classmates! Love Lots.

It was March 31, 2007, when i received the most anticipated gift of my hard work, My College Diploma. It was a mixed emotions to narrate on how i feel during that day, i was filled with joy because finally my years of studying is over, the sacrifices of my parents is done, the preparing of assignments, term papers and reports is at ease, the stress of memorizing, analyzing business and accounting transactions has put to an end. But i cannot hide the fact that i was also overshadowed then by sadness, for a reason that i am going to leave the alma matter whom i have stayed for almost 9 years ( 4 years in High School and 5 years in College with my Degree of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy), the alma matter who thought me of the different mathematical equations, various parts of the body, several techniques in writing news and other articles in High School. Accounting formulas, equations, techniques and principles in College. In addition, I am also a little bit all alone then because my classmates and I will going to separate ways and face the life on our own finding a job to earn a living. it is like walking in a road, and it is up to us on how we will be going to face the challenges that will come our way. Graduation depicts a new chapter in the lives of a graduate, many changes will pass through, many circumstances will try to enter our whole individuality, but it is a matter of courage and determination on how are we going to surpass all of those.

Remembering my days in college gives me so much joys and smiles in my heart. why? because of the endless number of activities and events that i've been went through, this is made possible with the organizations that i am affiliated into. I was been an active and devoted member of the UA Outreach and Campus Minitsry. My 5 years in college ideally evolve with these two.With these organizations, i was able to see life beyond greatness, richness and so forth, I was able to touch personally the lives of the people at Munting Tahanan of Nazareth, Pampanga Provincial Jail, Social Action Center of Pampanga, Jose B. Lingad Medical Center, Bahay Pag-ibig and others. I was also given by God the chance to speak to thousands of students and spread His good news and teachings to everyone.

With the interest, love and dedication that i showed with these organizations, i was an awarded as one of the archbishop's most distinguished awardee for formation. But it is not the award that counts to me, it is how i was able to help and changed their lives and how they shape and touch my life.

I had so much unforgettable memories during my stay in the University, not only with those organizations but with my set of friends, peers and classmates whom for five years we've been together through thick and thin.

Life at College will always be a noted one in my life... this will never erase as my life breath takes away.

BAGUIO RETREAT '07

It is very common for graduating college students in the University of the Assumption to experience this what we called " RETREAT" This is a silent residential retreat of 2 days for those who desire to experience God's love through prayer and individual spiritual direction. According to an article "A retreat is a withdrawal from immediate concerns to assess and integrate one's relationships. Yes, we leave and forget for a while our problems and anxieties at home and in school and assess. We evaluate our commitments to friends, to work, to country, to God, and even to ourselves.

It was January of 2007, when it is our turn to have a fascinating 3days and 2 nights meaningful retreat at Sta. Catalina Retreat House located at #2 Marcos Highway 2600 Baguio City. It was a time for us 5th year accountancy students to take a pause for a moment and reflect how is our life going on. It takes a little bit 5 to 6 hours travel from San Fernando, Pampanga, before we arrive to the ever ravishing and cold city of Baguio. During our first day, we were given the time to visit some of the tourist spots of Baguio, the Burnharm Park which you can see a massive number of foreign and filipino tourists taking some pictures as a sort of remembrance. We also went to Grotto where we met some of the katutubong ifugaos selling same stuffs which they personally made. We even went to SM Baguio where we had our lunch, it is just a typical mall like what we have here in SM Pampanga, not so much variation at all .After an almost a half day of walking travelling and exploring, we came back to our ever so silent retreat house. he3

My experience in the retreat was undeniably an incredible one, because it is a moment when i became so much closer to God through praying, moments of reflections and sharing with classmates. I was also given the time then to have a bonding with my friends and classmates and ask for forgiveness to those classmates whom i had misunderstanding with.

and lastly, the experience also gave us the cue that a few months from then was the most awaited glory of our lives, our graduation day which marks a new beginning for us as we enter the challenging world of work.

As i end up this simple remembering of mind, i just wanna extend my endless gratitude to the Sisters of Sta. Catalina Retreat House for their warm accomodation for us during our stay there.

That adventure was indeed a remarkable moment of my life...
